This is the exact same dimensions as the stock one, so it is for looks and weight reduction only. It looks much nicer than the dull OEM piece and goes along nicely with my aluminum triangle link.It also eliminates the need for those white plastic spacers since this was made the exact width needed to fill out the space. This makes installation much easier and no one will see the ugly white plastic washers in between Anymore
