Arrived with a tear and numerous black spots which might be due to mold. Would have been nice if someone did quality control before shipping it to me and having me go thru the hassle of returning it.

I love this this thing! It definitely was worth the $600 that I spent to purchase it pre-filled. I am able to clearly see the improvement in my grappling ability in class since I started practicing escapes, transitions, guard passing, reversals, and submissions on this dummy. I bought mine brand new from the company and it arrived way sooner than expected as well. My recommendations for improvement in the future would be to modify the dummy so it can straighten it’s legs at the hip in order to flatten it out when doing a back mount and the ability to lock it’s legs together to simulate a closed guard. Regardless, I would recommend this product to anyone who doesn’t have a dedicated/consistent training partner and is looking to improve their grappling technique.

I wanted to wait longer to write a review. I still plan on it, but I just love this thing. And I've seen such a fast improvement in myself my technique and conditioning. And I've heard other people bash on Jiu jitsu dummies. Well, maybe they didn't get this one or maybe they don't come from a high level wrestling background (personal drilling is very important), but this dummy is amazing. I'm in medical school so I only have time to go to club once a week. And I just wasn't limber anymore. Even when I did go to the fight gym every day, I found that partners didn't let me drill on them like we used to do back in wrestling my wrestling club (we'd let each other do 20 reps of a move on each side.) Now in my tiny apartment living room, I put on my full length grappling gear to wrist and ankles (because of carpet burn, and the dummy is rough as well). If it is cold put some sweats over that. And just get to drilling. Go to youtube black belts and fine tune technique, and look up new drills to get better at transitioning. Learn a new move off of youtube, and then just fine tune it when you go to the gym, you've already done 90% of the work at home. People are wondering why this white belt is dominating bigger brown belts, well it's because I'm getting trained by a 100 different youtube black belts 6 days a week. Seems extremely durable, feels like the BOTTOM of a heavy bag after it's been used for years. Sewing is similar to heavy bag sewing. I would order directly from Ring to Cage, the website is slight more confusing, but the price is $499 for a prefilled dummy (and if you buy one more cheap item you get a $50 discount for spending over $500). I paid $525 total for the dummy and some athletic tape, and it arrived at my house the next morning.

I have several grappling dummies and I'd say this one is the best. You're able to practice all kinds of submissions and positions with this dummy. If your looking for a dummy to train various positions and submissions then this dummy would work well.

I have 6 grappling dummies.1. Submission Master dummy2. Ring to Cage MMA grapping Dummy (black cloth one)3. MMA Grappling Throw Dummy4. Suples Dummy Attacker (hanging takedown Dummy)5. The adult version of this one6. Kids version of this oneOf all of them the best quality for the money is this one by far. Numbers 1 to 3 can be used mostly for arm bars and pretending to pass the guard and that's about it. You can sloppily try to pull off some other moves, and some moves you can't do at all like arm or leg triangles because the dummies are way too bulky with unreal shoulder to neck ratios. It actually hurts when you try.Not so with this dummy, you can do everything you can do with the other dummies and so much more (except the takedown dummy which is specifically for takedowns only). You can do arm & leg triangles, americana's, kimuras, omoplata's, wrist locks, foot locks, everything!This is the most useful dummy I have purchased or tried on the market. Very durable and made of high quality material. Not to mention it is easy to wipe down clean. Unlike all the other cloth ones that absorb your sweat and your friends sweat with no way to clean them and permanently stink after being used a few months, completely disgusting. This one does not have that issue because the vinnyl does not absorb anything at all. This thing can take a beating.I have no regrets purchasing it at all. I wish I would have known because this is the last dummy I purchased and now I see I needed no other dummy except this one and the Suples takedown one. I no longer even use the other ones & will be giving them away.One more piece of advice, do not buy the one you fill yourself. Spend a few extra bucks and buy it prefilled. It is no easy thing filling these things. Took me hours to do once on one and it did not come out that good (arms would fold at awkward spots). Buy it filled.
