I wish I could really test this out, but I am not using it to mountain climb. I sail and attach things at different points to the boat with this. It is very sturdy and feels nice and weighty. The things I'm attaching are several pound backpacks and things of that nature. It definitely feels strong and the locking mechanism seems to work well, but I haven't put it through the ringer to give it a tough test.I recommend it for your day-to-day needs. Could be good for climbing etc, because of the locking feature and the thick metal.

Nice heavy duty climbing style carabiner. Upon inspection this seems very sturdy and feels very well made with a very strong spring in the screw gate lever mechanism. It is constructed from carbon steel so it is most definitely not the most light weight option and has some considerable weight to it. I also think the black finish is really sharp looking.

I work in staging & live events so I rely on really heavy duty carabiners for when I’m climbing. This one is super easy to use and strong af!! Great value here and a good size as well

I used this carabiner to create an unstable inverted row bar for working out. I have a TRX Suspension Trainer as well as the TRX Rip Trainer. The Rip Trainer comes with 1 carabiner that's used for attaching the resistance bands to the bar, but there's eyes on both ends. I used this carabiner on the open end of the bar, plus the original TRX carabiner to secure the Rip Trainer to the foot straps of the Suspension Trainer. This created a solid bar for me to grip for inverted rows. Because of the design of the Suspension Trainer, this makes a very unstable bar for rows, and in turn, targets a lot more micro muscles and creates a more impactful movement. So that's what I needed it for, but in practice, this carabiner is great! It's super solid and clearly overkill for my application, but last thing I want is to be dropped on my back on concrete! The lock is positive and it's well made. If I had anything to critique is that the load limit is shown in kilonewtons, not pounds. I get the rest of the world is metric, but who wants to have to do an equation or search for an online converter to figure out what their carabiner's limit is?!

I never realized a carabiner could have so many instructions and diagrams!!!This is a real climbing carabiner, not one of those 'not for climbing' cheap ones. It's stamped with the load ratings as usual so you can make sure you're using the right one for the right job.I like the oval shape over the D shape for certain things since it loads more symmetrically, especially when using it with ropes. So far I've used this while climbing a tree to prune limbs, and I haven't fallen to put it to a full test but otherwise it's been working well.

I'm doing some work on my roof and I needed a way to secure myself. I have quality climbing ropes and Safety harness. I have secure connections on the ridge of my roof. I needed a carabiner to connect. Is carabiner is certainly strong enough to handle my weight even in a fall. I feel very confident using this screw gate locking carabiner.

This is a great carabiner! Although heavier than similar carabiners of this style. This is obviously to be used for strictly climbing, which I believe it would work wonderfully for, because of the strength and weight.
