Reserve reeds are crafted using naturally-grown cane from D'Addario's own foreign fields. D'Addario has pioneered the first practical and precise system to digitally measure and cut the incredibly complex geometrical patterns necessary to re-invent single reeds. Reserve reeds are cut to the tightest tolerances in the industry, offering the most consistent performance.

Just like the title says, best classical saxophone reeds in the market in my opinion. I am an advanced college classical saxophonist and I love them. My professor also uses them in her professional world.

Arrived today, good sound. 8/10 arrived in good condition. 1 is split at the top down 1/3” and another is thicker on one side than the other.

I expected so much more from these reeds after reading all the reviews.Positives: Every reed I tried seals perfectly and reliably with the mouthpiece. Not sure how they do it but these seal far better than VanDorens.Negatives: Yikes.1# These are shockingly harder to articulate and sound than a Vandoren reed. After playing just a few minutes and trying most of the reeds in the box the results were all the same: a lot of work to make a sound and to articulate. Maybe a 2.5 might be better for me. but then there is Negative #2#2 The tone was SO airy and coarse! Every reed I tried was the same way.All I can say is that for the negatives and the positives I noted, these were very consistant. Every reed played almost exactly like the others.I'll be sticking with VanDoren

For years, I used the Vandoren reeds in high school and in college. When I picked up my horn again, I was introduced to the D'Addario Reserve reed. They are fantastic. I've always had issues hitting those super low B and B# notes, yet these reeds make it effortless. I also love the fact that I tend to get more great reeds than good or okay reeds.

Unfortunately, my experience with these reeds was less than satisfactory. I ordered a box of 3+'s after hearing several people I know praise the product. When the reeds arrived, I immediately noticed that 2 were warped, but ok, you will always have duds in a box. The problem came when all of the reeds were checked, and unfortunately, only one was not off centered on the shoulder by a quarter of the reed width. After I tried to contact the company, I got no reply. Though I won't be buying the full box again, I will definitely give D'Addario another shot due to the high praise I have heard from the people around me.EDIT: D'Addario has sent me a replacement box. I did not know they were sending this, as it showed up on my doorstep today. Amazing customer service, fantastic company. The new reeds were much better than the original box. Thank you, D'Addario, for your fantastic customer service!

After not being satisfied with the tone I produced with Vandoren V12s, I decided to give these reeds a try. I was immidietly awestruck with the response and character these reeds conveyed. They have a full, rich sound in the lower register and speak freely in the upper and altissimo registers. Each reed comes almost identical to the previous but like all cane reeds, they have their differences as expected. I appreciate the fact that they are produced in the USA, allowing for a cheaper costs than foreign brands.
