CURT snap hooks are a highly secure way to connect your safety chains from your trailer to your tow vehicle. They feature a spring-loaded safety latch that turns the hook into a closed loop. Similar to a quick link, the safety latch allows for a safety chain connection that won't come loose from vehicle vibrations or jarring on uneven terrain. Snap hooks also feature a strong steel construction and come with a zinc-plated finish to outlast the elements. This particular snap hook has a 7/16" diameter and offers a gross trailer weight capacity of 5,000 lbs. Remember, when attaching safety chains, the chains should be cross underneath the trailer coupler, and each hook and chain must be rated to meet or exceed the gross weight of the trailer.

Looks to be good quality, strong spring feedback. Didn’t want to get a cheaper safety hook that wasn’t rated for what I expected to haul. Time will tell if this is a long lasting product.

These are great if you have heavy (ie BIG) chain and small-ish hitch safety hanger points. They're so heavy duty that they didn't fit through my chain or through the attachment points on my truck. There is a smaller version so shame on me for not checking. Measure first!

Good little snap hook. Had same issue others had. The safety retainer clip is too long making it hard to hook onto the trailer hitch. I just shortened it by 1/4in. Now it is easier to install & remove. I needed longer safety chains 2 different truck heights 2 different trailers.

I'm using the Carabiner Clip to hold my Pontoon to the dock. It's very sturdy. That boat's not going anywhere.

Work great for an extended chain for my trailer. I added a 12” extender on the hitch and had to add the extra chain to the safety tow chains. Original chain hooks into the 12” chain and the new hooks installed on 12” chain to make a extension chain for using the extender on the receiver. Works great.

Carabiner body is tough as nails. But the spring that holds the latch closed is micky mouse. Also spring gets in the way when trying to add or remove keys from the ring. Good for some uses. I bought as a heavy duty key ring and wasn't very impressed.

This is a fantastic safety chain hook. I just have to say they are much more substantial in person in your hand then they appear in the photo. They just appear average size, like "sure it will do the job", but when you get them they are like "wow these things are thick and solid, my hitch will break off before these things give way". I ground off and tossed the time-wasting screw on clips my chains came with, these hook on in 2 seconds instead of 2 minutes. Best of all, they are so cheap!
