Simple straight forward patternUnfortunately the printed pattern is not exactly square on the Aida cloth, but the paper pattern is very helpful.

Its very hard to find the pre printed patterns and I hope they keep coming out with more. I plan to by all 4 currently on shop for my cousins to keep a family tradition my Grandma started.LOVE ITTTTT

This stocking will be beautiful when finished but is a little hard to do because most of the printed image is the same color as the tread you need to use to complete it. I much prefer images printed in contrasting color so the thread is easy to see. Also the whole background on this is cross stitched. That’s a lot of stitches to do.Otherwise it is a beautiful design and came in a nice box. The instructions are very thorough.

UPDATE - This kit is washable. My review below was after I washed as instructed in the kit. I washed it 5-6 times, but quit too early. I was really upset that I ruined the stocking. After it dried and I was upset with the shrinking and outcome, my son convinced me I had nothing to lose by trying again (after hours of stitching). I am pleased to show you the pictures of his efforts. We did use a dye magnet for laundry and gently rubbed as he handwashed it again. It did take about 15-20 minutes of gently rinsing and changing the water a few times so that the stamping didn't re-settle back onto the stocking. The pictures show when stitiching was complete and you can still see some of the stamping thru the threads. The next picture is after the first washing. The 3rd picture is after we tried again and the final is the complete stocking which we're really pleased with. I did line it with a cotton so it looks a little bulky, but hides all the threads and made a nicer finish. I hope this review helps others. I did upgrade my review to 4 stars and would have done 5, but I think the washing instructions need to be re-written to be more thorough. Thanks for reading this.DO NOT wash as suggested..The kit was great, easy to follow instructions and make this stocking. However, the directions from the company say "you'll want to remove the stamping from the project' after completion. You can see the stamping faintly under different colors because they aren't faint on the stamping. However, when I followed the handwashing as they stated, step by step, not only did it run the colors, it also shrunk the aida cloth. It also didn't remove the stamping, it only helped it bleed thru the lighter threads, so it looks horrible now. Kit was great and very nice, but again, DO NOT wash as instructed. Especially if this will be used once a year and stored with care.

All in all, happy with it. I prefer counted over stamped cross stitch. The colors chosen for bottom of design are so close in shade that you can't see the snow flakes very well. Took me 30 days to complete.

My eyes are getting bad so I thought I would try this stamped kit rather than the regular cross stitch kits I have always purchased. The colors that were used to stamp this pattern were bright purples and greens - - garish and far too bright for the light grey and white floss used in this stocking. Not even three strands of white floss could cover up the stamped colors. In addition, the longer I worked with the colors, the duller they seemed for a child's stocking. I gave up after about 10 hours on this one and went back to the Dimensions Cross Stitch Stockings. This CrossStitchStyleArte kit was simply NOT worth my time!!!

There was absolutely not anywhere near enough thread to finish this stocking! I had to purchase several more skeins.
