It's OK, but not as loud as I was expecting.

I need a louder wired door bell. The Craftmade Door Bell was reported to be a lot louder. I found it to be a little louder. The Defiant Wireless or Wired Doorbell Chime with a volume control was even louder. I will compare and contrast the two.Craftmade Pros* Wired and cheaper Defiant $47 and gave very good wiring instructions. Easy to install. Wired model never needs batteries every 3- 6 months.Craftmade Cons* The mechanical bells were not well secured for shipping. No rubber bands to hold the bells down so the rubber grommets came lose. (see pictures) Once the bells were properly installed, the front and back door Ding Dong worked.Defiant Pros* Wired or wireless with a volume control. Plays various chimes, including Ding Dong. There is a chime that will work for the hard of hearing. Digital sound through speaker.Defiant Cons* More expensive than Craftmade $57. Requires a diode installed at each door button. When the power is shut off, the chime selection may not be retained.Neither Bell come with a power supply, door bell buttons, or C batteries, these are all extra.

After working for the first month, the slider for the front door chime is stuck and cleaning it doesn't free it up enough to ring.

If you have a larger home and want to be able to hear the doorbell anywhere in your house, get this doorbell. We had trouble hearing our old doorbell, found this and decided to try it. It works great.

Not crazy loud, but certainly larger and louder than our old doorbell. Easy to install - just 2 wires.

We had a typical "builder" doorbell chime and when we moved from a Ring doorbell + Ring Chimes (in several rooms) to a Nest doorbell (no chimes), we realized that we could barely hear our old doorbell chime upstairs. This doorbell chime solved that problem -- we can hear it in all rooms on both floors and it isn't too loud near where it is installed.Easy install/set up. The mounting plate fits perfectly into a receptacle box if you have one. Otherwise, it includes 2 @ screws and anchors. And of course, only 2 wires (or 3 if you have 2 doorbells).
