This clamps come in very handy, to put multiple mics on a single stand when tracking with various mics a single source (for example micking an amp cabinet with your favorite mics, or tracking vocals with two different mics, etc). It also saves valuable space instead of putting multiple mic stands, moreover in a small home studio environment.

Clamping it to a desktop monitor pole, and it isn't staying tight. I finally had to put a "helper" arm on it and really tight it down. I don't expect it to last. Feels like it is made to look solid, but isn't really.
