This might be the ideal cooler for you IF (1) you have unlimited patience and (2) the hands and eyes of a skilled surgeon. It arrived almost fully assembled. There was an unmounted handle with 2 tiny screws in a separate box. There were no instructions in that box or in the manual. Who would need them? Two holes, two screws? You only need a screwdriver. Ah, but the screws don't reach. They are hidden inside the door frame. Yep, they fall right through and getting even one to come out enough to attach the handle is nearly impossible. I've wasted 2+ hours and I have the skills as a DIYer with decades of experience. Unless you love frustration, avoid this product.

10 months after I purchased it, the wine cooler stopped working. Zero refrigeration, zero support from Amazon, zero response from Costway. The power is on but there is no cooling at all. A total waste of roughly $500.

firstly, this pup was NOT plucked off the vine, k. like many, i'm out $400+. with that behind us, it's meeting our expectations, but it's only been a couple days.so a little about us. we imbibe thunderbird and boone's farm regularly; gallo and manischewitz during the holidays and spare no expense for andre's cold duck sparkling but only when it's on sale! to that end and unlike many reviewers, we couldn't care less about temp accuracy as long as it's cold enough to not need ice. :) as the last thing you wanna do is to put ice in your delicious wine - dilutes the hell out of it.the box is less than 3 feet from the dining table where we usually eat and no, it's not a single-wide, k. it's quiet and the operational noises are low and quite tolerable. personally, i'm sensitive to noise which is why the "antarctic star" cooler was totally unacceptable; it brought lots of gurgling and extraneous din that drove me nuts. customer service said it was normal, so it got returned.the racks on this costway are laid out well. our different sized bottles fit fine. haven't put the sparkling in there yet though. we removed the bottom rack, to allow for opened bottles to stand upright. the bottom of the cabinet has ribs, so it can be tricky, but it works. the box itself is quite attractive even when compared to the late ge profile (may it rest). the blue display leds can be seen from across the street. we'll need to get creative with some tape to attenuate it or learn to leave our shades on in the housekudos for the packaging - it was superb and brilliantly done! it's boxed twice in heavy duty cardboard. two nylon straps secure the outer box. we slid them off, (handy in case of a return), and just lifted the top off. no need to cut anything. after that's removed, there's another box with straps, so rinse & repeat. the cooler is well protected and we were able to keep it upright.now about that glitch - they sent the incorrect screws to secure the handle to the door. we managed to figure out what would work but the screws they sent were way too short and actually defective. it took two 4 mm screws about 1.5" long. we did call customer service; they were friendly but when you're told to take pics of the defective screw and send that back, somehow, i got motivated to visit the hardware store.we splurged and bought the 3 yr extended warranty. hopefully, it'll give us about 15 years or so like the ge. so durability is unknown here. we're glad we took the splurge. let's drink to that!

The wine cooler started beeping after 13 months and it would not cool anymore, just after the 12-month warranty was over. I contacted Costway and they offered no support, saying that the cooler was out of warranty. I understand it is out of warranty, but I expected some help to try to troubleshoot the problem, but I got nothing. This means that I will need to buy a new cooler and pay to dispose of the broken one. I wish I had bought a more expensive and reliable wine cooler to start with.I will stay away from Costway now.

Unit description states: '41-61.5°F Temp Control' yet the included brochure and unit will only go down to 50 degrees F which is not cool enough for white wines/others! Why not allow for setting down to 32 degrees F??

I like the compactness and the good temperature control. The shelves are perfect for 25-oz. standard-shaped bottles (like Bordeaux or Burgundy bottles and most white wine bottles.) The bottom can store four or five larger or fat-bottomed bottles.Of note: Be aware that the method of preventing accidental thermostat changes (child-proofing) is slightly complex. (a bonus, not a problem) You just hold in the plus and minus buttons together util the three-bar button lights up and then press that. Then you can adjust the temperature. with the plus/minus buttons. Could save a curious child from cooking or over-chilling the wine.

I see similar models to this around town. This one was specifically designed to hold bottles of wine. It’s quiet and temperature is tightly controlled. There are readouts for current and goal temperatures. It looks good in my kitchen. I’ve had it for slightly less than a year now, and it’s working well. It does have an external handle on the left for easy opening.
