My company told us (Me plus 20 guys) to get these so we could cut down SIM cards. Problem is, we all found out they cut offset, usually damaging the SIM. This does look like decent quality and comes with a nice bag, but few of us were happy with the damaged SIM cards. I looked at it, thinking I could re-align it, but that looks near impossible. Maybe cutting by hand with a knife would be more reliable.

It works. I trimmed a mini sim card to a nano sim card succesfully. But before cutting it is better to get training on some similar plastics. When you are ready for the final cut, use your second hand to apply small force to sim card to push it inside constantly during the cut.

I needed to trim my att hotspot sim down to a micro size. I dug out an old cell phone from the closet and pulled the sim to run a test. I noticed that you really have to get it centered just right and not up against the guides because it trimmed too close on one side and left too much on the other.Once i realized that, i just placed it just right and slammed the handle down and it worked perfect.

As cell phones evolve the makers continue to try to save internal space so they can add new features. One way they have found is to reduce the size of the sim card. The sim card is the life of the phone. In the past the sim card was not much larger than your index finger fingernail. They now use full-size SIM, mini SIM, micro SIM, nano SIM and esim. The part of the card that the phone uses is the same size in all of the cards, the rest is filler except in the case of the esim. This device allows you to resize your current sim to fit a new phone that uses a different size sim which keeps you from having to go to the trouble of getting a new card. Very useful. Recommend

Tried to trim a working microSIM down to a new device which used a nanoSIM. Could have used a printed template and a pair of scissors, but opted to go with a more elegant solution by buying a device that could punch out the gold part of the card for future use without accidentally damaging the gold leads. Turns out the fault tolerances for this device was not perfect, and the card does not line up just right inside the cutter punch tool. I'm about half a millimeter off and it still has white AT&T card on one side and the gold is just barely trimmed off on the other side. This should not have happened with a well tooled device. It was easy to use but also to misuse. There were adapter brackets included luckily so I moved the card back to the original device and it worked again but would not work in an alternate carrier unlocked device to be recognized as a SIM, which it should. Ultimately had to go to get a card from AT&T anyhow

I needed to reduce a Micro SIM card to a Nano SIM card. The cutter comes with various SIM card holders so you can quickly identify what you have. SIM card removal tool is supplied, also a small emery board to file down any rough edges. (I actually didn't need to use this).Drop the SIM in the correct slot, a firm push down on the punch and the Nano Sim was created. Really easy. Don't worry if you see a little of the metal taken off the edge of the SIM in the process . This is normal and the SIM worked perfectly.

You must be bold to use this, It is darn hard to fit the SIM card in the slots and you must have control before applying force to it or you could end up breaking the chip. Try with some dummy chips before doing it in your SIM card, you only get one shot.

Like others have alluded to on here, it's nerve wracking to chop into your SIM card knowing that if it goes wrong, you have to do the walk-of-shame back to your phone carrier. I went for it though, and it worked like a champ. This punch tool came with an emery board for tidying up the edges if you need it, however the cut was pretty spot on.. I only needed to rub the SIM card on the board a few times to bring the whole thing to the right thickness of a nanoSIM card.. it doesn't take much sanding to get there.I was upgrading my work phone from a Samsung Galaxy S5 to a Galaxy S21+.. It saved me having to go through a lengthy request & approval process at my company just to provide me a new nanoSIM card.. This punch tool was worth every penny.
