My 5 gallon needed a good safe scraper for an acrylic tank. I was using a magic eraser which worked for the most part but couldn't get too deep into the tank without making a mess. This one works like a charm. For the most part it does clean the acrylic with ease. But some of the encrusted algae will take a bit of elbow work to rub it off. The corners of the scraper seem to work better for the stubborn stuff.I would not let your tank go for too long. This isn't a blade and will be tough to get it all.

Not sure why it doesn’t come with a blade. Doesn’t clean a thing.

A LOT of reviews saying how great this is, at least one refers to it being on newly growing coralline. My experience: a lot of effort for very little or no impact. I think a cotton ball would remove more algae. Or a pad made from the fur of a Harp seal. Whatever you can think of that’s super soft - use that instead. It’ll remove more.Unboxed it, immediately tried it, went right back in the box.

Very easy to remove algae off my waterbox aquarium glass. I chose the longer one so I wouldn’t have to get my hands wet. Work good or coralline also if you get it when it first starts to accumulate. Not sure how long a blade will last but very happy with it so far.

The shorter version works better, bought this one to work on my 55 and 50 gallon tanks; however, it loses the effectiveness due to the long handle. The shorter version much like an old ice scraper works better but you get wet and risk contamination of the tank with hands in the water.

This plastic scraper made short work of the algae covered front of my 100 gallon acrylic aquarium. I had let it go, and the Aqueon magnetic cleaner couldn't get it off, though it works great if you use it regularly. My algae was tough, and I needed the strength of the 24" model to apply enough pressure for it to work. It did not scratch the plastic at all, and all the built up green algae came off with about 5 minutes of work.I HIGHLY recommend this tool for acrylic aquariums!

Well made and ultra durable. They fixed a design flaw from the original product so the blades don’t get stuck in the scraper. I have an aquarium service business so I use these a lot and they rly hold up well. The acrylic blade is perfect but the stainless blade is a touch flimsy but the scraper itself is great.

This amazing scraper is perfect for scraping that stubborn algae off the sides of your aquarium. The handle is strong, so I can apply as much pressure as I want, and the scraper edge works great. I used to have to scrub and scrub with an acrylic pad at the algae in my 55-gallon tank. And even then, spots would remain. I used to have to work on my tank in stages because my arm would get tired. Now, with this scraper, one swipe gets the easy stuff, and a few swipes get the rest. I got my tank clean in just a few minutes. Do yourself a favor and get this scraper. You won't regret it.
