Its a good kit. All items seemed relatively fresh. Not much in terms of packaging. The shipping was fast and on point. It is rare you get stuff on time with Amazon these days.

Fair Warning: this was based off the recipe in the kit in 12/2016 it's changed several times since then.Made it up to bottling phase after doing fermentation and lagering for 5 weeks total.Color is slightly darker than a straw color.Noncarbonated flavor is (before priming sugar is added) malty and almost absent of hops flavors and aroma.Will update after 2-4 weeks in the bottleFirst taste-2 weeks: Minimal carbonation. Slight maltiness to it far less than what was noticed before bottling, very mild hop stillUpdate* week 3 in bottle, Malty flavor mellowed out. Lemony like taste which assuming is those Hallertau hops coming back into playGood classic pilsner taste after conditioning further in the bottles, expect it to just get better as it sits further.

The kit comes with all the ingredients to 5 gals (50 bottles) of beer. The beer has a all the classic flavor characteristics of a good European pilsner. The color is darker than the straw color of pilsner. The mouth feel is also more substantial. I would recommend dry hoping to add a bit more hoppy flavor.
