I am writing this review because every other review seems to be based on using a free product provided by Vine. I paid for mine - and I bought it for an actual need. The basis: I run a software product company and am on the road a load, and 95% of my meetings are online through Teams. I travel around a lot, and might not have great connects. I also use a Dell convertible - a powerful Windows tablet that I use as my "laptop". I have used several bluetooth speakers in the past and I always found the quality lacking. I travelled with a bulky Dell docking station, and a speaker, and a webcam. So I was looking for a wired speakerphone and tried this, and have been using for more than a year. Last bluetooth speakerphone was a $189 Anker that was OK - I have a review about that on Amazon in case you are interested. So my review : this item is awesome. As a speaker - it does everything I need, and does it well. But where it shines - it replaced my bulky docking station.Verdict : Recommended without reservation.

This is the 2nd USB speaker dock I've tried and the 4th speakerphone. I've used Jabra, Avermedia, and Derico speakers. This speaker has very good volume and when I've recorded my voice to compare against other microphones in my collection, my voice sounds clear and background noise is reasonably well controlled. The Avermedia speaker dock is smaller and has fewer ports which is both a pro and con. It's easier to place on my desk because the ports all face the same direction. The ports on this HiDock are on two separate sides and I just found it awkard for my desk. I really wanted most of the ports on the back so I could better manage cables. But this one places the host port one one side and the HDMI and port ports on another. To be fair, many USB docks have this issue, but with a speakerphone that you'll want to place closer to your mouth, you're not looking to hide it. It's probably going to be in the way of something because of the ports.I also found that sometimes I want to use the speaker and sometimes I want to use headphones or some other source. With a Windows PC or Mac, you can choose inputs and outputs. But on an iPad or Android device, I found that the speaker generally wanted to be in control even if I had bluetooth headphones attached and didn't want voices broadcasting across my house. While there is a button to turn off the spaeaker, this seems to just turn off audio, period. So, I cann accept that this device isn't really intended for use with mobile devices. But as more of us work off multiple devices, it's nice to have something you can use at home, on the go, or god forbid, on vacation. In terms of use as a dock, I had no issues. HDMI performed as expected with my 4K monitor supported. I do like that this dock offers multiple ports (the Avermedia doesn't), but I wish one of the USB A ports was a USB C port as more peripherals are defaulting to C nowadays. In terms of audio quality, I think my Jabra speakerphone sounds the best but it also cost the most. This speaker and the Derico are both louder than the Avermedia and I think do somewhat better with noise as well. So if you're looking for an inexpensive solution and you're OK with a speakerphone being your primary conference call audio source, this dock performs well for its price. Just make sure port placement isn't an issue for you.

I am just really impressed with this. It looks kinda old school, but it works and works well.No battery, just plug and play.It is about 4.5 inches square. The buttons are easy to see and use. There is a light that goes across it to indicate the status.I used this with a phone, a chromebook and a laptop. In the first situation I just plugged into into the phone and it automatically recognized it as the speaker/mic (Android). I could stand 35 feet away and talk in a loudish voice and the other person could hear me. In a group setting around a table the person could hear all five people sitting at a table. No more “what did they say?”.I then used it in the same situations with a Chromebook and it worked equally well. For the Windows laptop I used this for a student who was attending a lecture remotely. The student could hear all of us, ranging from 2 ft to 15 feet away. The noise canceling is ok, but not absolutely amazing. The classroom has a air cleaner running, and we had to turn that off. It picks up anyone typing nearby (on a mechanical keyboard, which is a little louder). At sub 100 bucks this is a deal, and I will use it both as a teacher and for personal use.

Very impressive and versatile device! 3 USB-A ports (one of them 3.0, the others 2.0), a USB-C port with PD, and an HDMI 2.0 port for 4K video. It connects to the computer via USB-C, which is also how it gets power -- no need for an additional power brick, which keeps the footprint small.Connection was easy on my wife's LG Gram laptop. Once connected, Windows 11 immediately recognized the dock's speaker and mic and defaulted to them. Speaker sounds good, with decent bass and an emphasis on midrange (ideal for voice) -- volume can range pretty high without any distortion. Microphone is ok -- on the other end, it definitely sounds like a speakerphone, but it's actually better than the $250 Microsoft Audio Dock that it's replacing. Noise cancelling is reasonable, although I could still hear my wife typing quietly during a call. The buttons are large and convenient, including volume control, mic/speaker mute, play/pause, call answer/hangup, and HDMI on/off.Build quality is excellent. The unit feels solidly built, and the metal speaker grille has a nice midcentury-modern vibe that reminds me of classic transistor radios. Buttons have very good tactile feedback, and have a nice soft rubber texture. The included manual is clear and in good English.Overall, an excellent choice. As I mentioned above, I could compare this directly to the $250 Microsoft Audio Dock, and this dock is significantly better in several ways. It's more compact, has a better mic, more connection ports, doesn't require its own charging block, and is $150 cheaper!
