A friend gifted me her old hydration backpack but without the bladder since it had a leak. I came across this one which was a great price for my first bladder purchase. The only star I take off is because I was hoping to be able to easily add ice but the opening on top doesn't open as wide as I thought it would. Overall, this bladder is a great quality and I only needed to wash it once to remove the plastic smell. The plastic is thick and feels very sturdy. I use it weekly on bike rides and it has easily become a product I would definitely recommend.

Since this opens entirely from the top it does dry quickly for a bladder. It's also easier to clean.

doesn’t leak- opening makes putting ice in bladder very easy, and filling hydro at fests is alot quicker/easier now as opposed to the circle openings most bladders have.

The design includes an inner piece of material to help the bladder keep shape when used in a bagWhen I first received the unit, I filled it with water and a drop of 7th generation dish soap and gave it a shake. Nothing crazy vigorous mind you, but when I dumped the water, the inner material separated!I'm no fan of the material. And feel that it impedes the ability to dry out the bag, But seeing it break like that gives me little confidence in the bag itself. Returning.I can confirm the complaint about the plastic smell (even after the rinse), but the instructions include a note on how to remove. (I believe it involved baking soda, but I'd check the instructions for specifics). I never got that far...Bite valve seemed good enough, give the price point and I appreciated the inclusion of the cap.But the inner membrane's immediate separation makes me concerned about build quality ( The last thing you want is equipment failure on the trail). And that smell... eesh.Material concerns aside, I would recommend a version without the membrane as I suspect it would impede cleaning and drying after a use.Sending back.

I bought this to pair with my go-bag. However, it would also be a great replacement for most hydration packs. It's everything in one, except the pack itself.PROS:I love some of the unique features of this hydration system.1) The closure is a fold-and-clamp top with a slide-on clamp. This means that the opening is a very wide direct-access top. You can put large pieces of ice in here easily. It fills super fast, and has no awkward lids to fiddle with or leak.2) The round bite valve works great, and seals well. Because it's round, it works the same at any angle.3) The bite valve has an attached cover to keep it clean in any condition.4) The tube attaches to the bladder with a quick-release button. That means it's a breeze to attach and detach, and cleaning and drying between uses is a dream.5) Came with 1 extra o-ring for the quick-release tube attachment6) Came with 2 strap clamps to hold the tube to a backpack strap (though it was a little small for my heavy-duty rucksack's straps/MOLLE webbing).CONS:My two complaints are super minor, but worth mentioning.1) The inside of the bladder has a connector to keep the front and back from pulling too far apart. While this helps to keep the pouch flat and not too round/thick, it also gets in the way just a little when adding ice or cleaning/drying. The wide mouth allows you to add larger pieces of ice, but this inner ligament could restrict some pieces from fitting. I wouldn't have every cared, except for the wide mouth opening allows possibilities that this limits.2) The clamp closure at the top is a little too thick to attach the hanging hooks inside my pack. It would work great with velcro straps. But snaps and some clips won't get through. Workarounds include keyrings, paracord loops, replacement clips, etc. But it would be great if the clamp were designed to accommodate smaller clips, as most hydration packs have.OVERALL:It's a 9/10 for me. It's high quality and functional. The unique design is an asset over other similar products. A few tweaks would make this hydration system perfect.

My daughter has used this all summer. Easy to fill, durable, and fits her pack.

This is a good design. Clear material to you can be sure you got it cleaned. Fold over with slider closure works really well. Some I've used were really hard to get the slider on but this works smoothly. And most importantly it seals tightly. The full top opening makes it easy to get ice or mix inside as well as cleaning tools later.
