I used these foam replacements in my grandparents older 8in Cerwin Vega DX-1s. The old foam had completely rotted away. With the new replacement foam the speakers sound great!

This is my second attempt at a DIY speaker repair.I am over the moon 🌙 how well this turned out!No need to cut the center cap off to shim the coil on the pole piece.I removed the old surround which took time - about 15 minutes each speaker. Take your time doing this as after all it is your speaker. The more meticulous you are, the more you will benefit from a job well executed.I then applied the bonding glue to the inner ring of the surround, then centered the surround on the cone while the glue was still pliable. After about 2 hours I then applied the glue on the basket where the foam will attach.I adjusted the foam and checked pole piece alignment by pressing equally on the dust cap and cone until no rubbing was heard.2 hours later I glued the ring back on top of the foam. Then I let the glue set for 24 hours.I had my doubts as one driver sounded blown and didn't want to play nice when initially aligning the voice coil. I was almost sure it had some sort of damage with the whizzing sound it had. After the 24 hour cure time finished I test my Cerwin Vega speakers on a 200w per channel amp and they both sounded perfect and best of all, they look brand new!

I was nervous about getting the speaker centered but it was easy. Followed the videos and instructions and no problems at all. 36 year old speakers look like new again.

The foam disintegrated over time. 1996 pair of very nice Cerwin Vegas. New similar pair $500. Took 30 minutes to clean off old foam. What their video. Then 15 minutes to glue on new foam. Well worth the money! Great product. Easy to do.

Worked perfectly. My 30 + year old speakers are finally working again. Thank you for this great product. Was easy to use. My only difficulty was the quickness of the glue setup time. It was extremely quick, which didn’t give much time to get the foam centered. It became immovable within 5 mins, but the foam ring was basically centered once place onto the speaker.

I bought a set of infinity RS7s at a garage sale this year. Still worked great, but the foam on the biggest speakers had disintegrated and made them sound terrible. I could've gone with black as that's what was originally on the speakers, but I chose these instead because I though it would look cool (which it does!). As someone who's never changed speaker foam before, I can confidently say that this was one of the easiest and most satisfying projects I've ever done. I love the look! The glue that you're sent with is no joke. The foam has been on there for 6 months now and I've noticed no problems whatsoever. Definitely give this a try!

I purchased this on line versus replacing my 20+ year old 8 inch Cerwin Vega's. They have done time in a car and the last 15 or so at home in an oak Genesis speaker cabinet. I was torn between buying new speakers or rebuild/replace the foam. After looking around I could not find speakers that fit the cabinet without some modification. So I gave these sponges a try but they seemed pricey ... I gave it a try and to my surprise the foam were OEM Cerwin Vega product with the logo and part number on the back side. The color is also correct. The kit comes with glue (old model car glue?), instructions and it took me about 45 minutes to replace the foam on both speakers. Now the work great - new like again and I keep the cloth cover off for a while to show off the red rimed CV's.
