Why choose CBN ChainSaw Grinding Wheel ?

  1. CBN's extreme hardness and wear resistance ensure prolonged tool lifespan and reduced replacement frequency compared to conventional abrasives.
  2. With superior heat tolerance up to 1250-1350°C, CBN wheels maintain efficiency even in high-heat environments, suiting them for grinding heat-sensitive metals and alloys.
  3. With superior heat tolerance up to 1250-1350°C, CBN wheels maintain efficiency even in high-heat environments, suiting them for grinding heat-sensitive metals and alloys.
  4. The initial cost of CBN wheels is offset by their longevity and reduced need for frequent changes, resulting in a lower total cost of ownership. Additionally, they generate less waste and require less energy, promoting environmental sustainability.

CBN ChainSaw Wheel VS Common ChainSaw Wheel

  • CBN wheels last longer due to their exceptional hardness, reducing the need for frequent replacements and associated downtime.
  • CBN withstands higher temperatures than traditional abrasives, preventing heat-related damage during grinding and maintaining performance.
  • Sharper and consistent CBN particles ensure better surface finish quality and maintain wheel shape for precise grinding.
  • Initial cost savings from reduced wheel changes and lower energy consumption make CBN wheels economically advantageous and more sustainable.

This takes a little bit of skill and practice, but once you get the hang of it, it does a good job of sharpening dull chain-saw chains.

Ever since CBN wheels became available, I’ve been using them to sharpen woodturning tools with good success. I mill logs using a Granberg chainsaw mill with a 42” bar mounted on a Husqvarna 395xp chainsaw. Chains I use with this bar have 115 drive links. On a 24” diameter hardwood log such as ash, I can usually get two passes on an 8’ length before the chains have to be sharpened. CBN wheels run much cooler than conventional sharpening wheels. This is the main reason for my switching to CBN. I want to minimize the accidental de-tempering of the chain. Also, CBN wheels last much longer than conventional wheels and eliminate the need for re-sharping the wheel. This CBN wheel mounted to my chain grinder without issues. In use, I don’t notice much difference between this wheel and a conventional wheel other than maybe fewer sparks with the CBN wheel. The results are good but not too different than before.
