You have to go over a spot multiple times to get even just a little bit off, not very sturdy. It's nice for small tanks, but using a squeegee like device will do the job much better.

I don't know why everybody was complaining about the power of these magnets they're very strong.It's small I wish it wasn't as tall as it was like the dome of the magnet I wish it was flatter but they probably had to fit a big magnet in there.The The stuff that goes on the inside of the glass it's kind of firm I thought it was going to scratch the glass but it definitely does not supposed to be firm to scrape the algae off I'm pretty sure.As you can see I use it for my terrarium to wipe off the moisture it's not working the way I wanted it to but that's no problem of the device I think I should have looked for more like a magnetic squeegee.

I love this device mainly because somehow when you use it the scraped algae does not get stuck on the cleaning pad itself so in a sense it’s self cleaning and it doesn’t scratch my acrylic aquarium either. It’s just so easy to grab it at the top when done without worrying about dropping or a mess. Cool little device.

This thing works great! Super strong magnet removes all the buildup under the water. We have a turtle tank and can’t imagine being without this gem. Affordable, small and mighty!
