Very easy to use and it’s within spec. There’s a little slop in the tightness (a necessity for practicality purposes) so you need to rotate the camshaft backwards to get the vvt solenoids back on, but it’s just a mm here and there.

If you can get this tool unpainted/in coated for the same price I’d recommend it. The paint chipped off where it contacted the cams, not to bad but had to wipe up the head area to make sure chips were gone. Don’t let that keep you from buying this though cause the price is good. Used it on my 2011 f-150 3.5L to hold the cams while removing the cam phasers. It works great. You’ll need a t55 torx bit to to get the phaser bolts broke lose and to tighten. This cam holder and tensioner holding tool did the job.

Purchased this tool do do a water pump job on a 2012 taurus.. worked perfectly. Metal used to construct I s a decent quality on down side is that it was a little too snug, but besides that 100% satisfied will recommend 😀😀

This was a great tool for the money. I don't think the OTC tools any better to be honest. And I got it the very next day when I needed it instead of waiting for my tool guy to get it a week later.It's a good quality tool and I'm probably only going to use it once or twice so I didn't want to spend $200 on a tool I won't be using everyday.
