Calcium Chloride is used by brewers to lower the pH, and add water hardness to the beer. Use up to 1 teaspoon per 5 gallons before the boil.

I bought this to keep my fermented cucumbers crisp. I had tried other means, but with limited success. This product did the trick. Cucs are nice and crisp every time. Recommended for fermenting when you want to keep the veggies crisp.

The picture shows LD Carlson, as the brand, which is widely available and something I'm used to. I have confidence in that brand. The brand supplied is labeled "AP Craft." Maybe it's okay; maybe it's better. I don't know. The point is that I wouldn't have ordered it, given that uncertainty. I would've looked elsewhere for something I recognized.

Using it for making cheese.4 stars is because it came in a sealed plastic bag instead of a plastic bottle as advertised.

Product is fine but does not match advertising picture. Not that it matters a great deal but it comes in a zip lock packet instead of a bottle.

I used this to make cream cheese. This cream cheese came out rich and creamy... I highly recommend making your own with this product!

Kept my fermented Pickles fresh. Don't use too much or it will create a slightly off taste. I haven't used it in homeade yogurt yet, but I'm sure it will thicken it up quite nicely.

It does was it was intended to do and arrived promptly. This little bottle will do a lot of batches, definitely a good buy. The screw top lid makes it easy to use and close up.
