It worked just fine, so far. I had another dongle that after 3 years stopped working. This was show as a supported dongle for Microsoft Surface Book and so I bought this to replace the last one. No problems so far. Ask me in 3 years.

This piece did not arrive in the time predicted. It does perform well - my picky laptop recognized it as an external display and added it without any additional effort.

I tested this with a monitor that can do 4K at 240Hz and this adapter could do only 60Hz. With same cable and monitor, I am able to get 4k at 144Hz with another adapter which is the highest that the other adapter supports.

While I could get other adapters for cheaper, I understand that with this one, you’re paying for the “Designed for Microsoft Surface” certification which, let’s face it, some of us are willing to pay for these certifications for peace of mind.Its specs are up to the challenge of supporting my most demanding HDMI connections and it works without issue for me so I can’t complain! There’s nothing extraordinary about it: it just works! Well, the specs are really nice, with a super high refresh rate for the 4K connection and HDR support, but other than that it’s an adapter that I’m happy with. Hope this helps!

Fantastic USBC > HDMI 2.1 adapter. Solid metal housing helps dissipate heat silently. What I also love about it is you can flash this one using officially provided firmware to get 4K/120 Hertz using a MacBook, otherwise not possible with normal USB-C > HDMI adapters. Cable matters delivers quality products! Cable ends fit very snugly, high quality adapter.

The product arrived in a basic, but branded white box, which was sufficient for the type of product. The adapter itself is well-built and features a handy LED light indicator that turns blue when plugged in, making it easy to confirm connectivity.While this adapter is advertised for Surface devices, I tested this adapter on both my Surface Pro X and Mac, and it worked smoothly with both devices. However, on my Mac, I could only achieve 4K at 60Hz, which I believe is more of a macOS limitation than an issue with the adapter itself. The important thing is that it performed flawlessly with my Surface, delivering the expected resolution and refresh rate.Overall, it does exactly what it’s supposed to, and you can’t go wrong with a product from Cable Matters. It’s reliable, well-constructed, and works as advertised—definitely a solid choice for anyone in need of a dependable adapter, which fits perfectly with my devices.

i was confident when ordering that this piece would work with an iPad and it does just fine. So save the Apple premium dollars because you can use this with your iPhone or iPad and get the same great quality video however you do lose the USBC PD function of the apple dongle. A small price to pay and if your device is fully charged it is one less cable that you would need to hookups to get this going.
