I have two of these and use them to store grain for livestock. One can fit 4-5 sacks of grain inside. Lid has a nice, tight fit and they are durable. Very convenient.

I bought this to store horse feed in and it works really well for that. However, I had to leave it out in the sun open for at least a week to get rid of the plastic smell. Be advised if that’s what you buy it for, it has slots in the bottom for a forklift so getting the feed out at the end is a little bit awkward. Also, it is pricey but it fit in my tack room and served my purpose very well so I went ahead and spent the big bucks.

I purchased the bin to use as a storage bin on the back of my travel trailer. Due to the bin's thin walls, in addition to the metal frame to which I bolted it, I had to add a piece of 3/8" high density solid polyethylene sheet on top of the metal frame, then bolt the bin through the bottom, through the polyethylene, and to the metal frame to stop any flex/bounce of the bin. I had to add additional bolts through the bin's bottom and to the polyethylene to stop flex of the bin sidewalls. I realize I'm not using the bin for it's intended purpose. This review is just a warning to anyone using the bin where it will be subjected to constant wind that the bin will have to be reinforced. Additionally, the place where a lock is placed could be broken with a screwdriver. Do not lock the bin and expect it to be secure.

Love these salt bins. VERY tough. I'm pretty sure they are indestructible.Only caveat - but still 5 stars because this isn't the SaltDogg's fault - Some types of "green" ice melt are hygroscobic - i.e. they attract water. If this is what you are using, you might want to add a hole for drainage to the bottom of the SaltDogg, otherwise you will open it up to find wet ice melt.If you are filling it with rock salt though, no worries at all.

Using these in a collegiate campus setting and they work great and look much better then our old wood boxes.
