I ordered the front and rear set yet what I received was one mechanical (DB 680) brake that looks like what is pictured and one hydraulic (HB 100) brake, which is garbage. I know because I went through 3 of them in less than a year. The internal seals will give out and the pistons will fail to push with any force. I specifically bought these to go back to mechanicals and yet one of them isn't even a mechanical brake caliper that is advertised.

I was expecting two dual-action mechanicals. One was mechanical/hydro. Both work well for the $. Essentially TRP clones at a fraction of the price.

I had these for my 29er and they lacked stopping power, but I'm a Clydesdale rider.My daughter has a 24er and is quite a bit lighter than me. I replaced her single piston mechanicals with these, and they work really well for her.I like these because adjustment for wear consists of only turning a barrel adjuster instead of having to break out the hex wrench set.

These are mechanical, cable operated, dual piston-type, disc brake calipers. Hydraulic calipers are more powerful and more responsive, which in some situations are necessary, but for commuters, tourists, and local grocery shoppers these can do all which would be needed. Besides, hydraulic brake systems are considerably more complicated to maintain and repair, like, out in the middle of nowhere a hydraulic system could develop a leak and what could then be done to fix that?

I bought a back mechanical brake caliper for my 20 in ebike with 160mm rotors. The original brake caliper was a single piston these dual pistons are nice. It was like a new bike far better stopping power coming from these. I couldn't be more happy. Gonna upgrade front here soon because the ease and satisfaction. Wishing I bought 2 from rip. But hay highly recommend. Quality is there too.

Caliper is fine but literature is deceptive. picture shows 2 calipers, narrative read front + rear caliper giving me the impression that there were both a front and rear caliper, not that it would fit front or rear;

I installed these on my Schwinn Axum e bike conversion and they are excellent. The dual action function adds braking power. They have been extremely reliable for me over the last 1500 miles. I have had no problems, and haven't had to tinker with them. They have needed some minor adjustment due to pad wear but that is completely normal. They mount with ease and are easier to mount and align than single action calipers.

They're fairly inexpensive considering the dual actuation. The mechanical function of these calipers seem to be fine. The problem is that they come with resin pads which is fine if you're trying to sneak up on someone but they don't stop well. So, no matter how hard you pull the brake lever, you're still going to be rolling for a while. Another $40 more and you can get yourself some name brand metallic pads that may make some metal to metal noise with your rotors but they'll stop you like brakes should. I wasn't interested in investing anymore. Especially considering the calipers cost me 40 something dollars. What I liked the most was that the seller provided three different addresses and three different RMA numbers and confused the heck out of me for a little while there. That was fun.
