Update: Bumped up to 4 stars. Still have issues with the DS4, but with controllers it works with, it works well, and is one of the only options. Been using a pair of these for my 8bitdo SN30 Pro +'s for awhile now with no issues.I've had this adapter for a couple of years now at this point, and overall, it gets the job done. I originally picked it up to use my DS4 controller with my PS2, as the DS4 is my favorite Sony controller. It paired easily, and I started using it to play a few older RPGs I wanted to revisit. Noticed a couple weird moments with inputs, but I didn't put much stock into it at first as I was playing games it didn't impact much.I later started going back to platformers and fighting games and that's when I really began to notice the issues I was dealing with. Even up to the most recent firmware updates as of today (2020-12-06), this unit does NOT do well with the DS4. You'll drop inputs consistently, and in many cases, my controller desynced entirely from the device for a few seconds, causing quite a few frustrating moments. I tried using it while still connected wired as well to try to rule out interference issues, but noticed no change. I was ready to return it when I saw another customer's review stating he had the same issues until he swapped over to a DS3, even after getting a replacement unit. Annoyingly, this is probably the only review I've seen that states that.Went ahead and pulled out my DS3 and sure enough, every issue I was having cleared up immediately. I have not noticed a single desync from the converter, nor dropped inputs or noticeable lag. I often use it whenever my friends come by to play fighting games and I feel no difference at all from using a wired controller. I also have a PS3 Afterglow controller, so I decided to give that a go with it as well since I prefer that a bit more to the original DS3. Immediately realized I ran into the same issues as before: dropped inputs galore, constant desyncs, and even better, this adds in a constant rumble that can't be disabled from the second you power the controller on.In conclusion; when using an official Sony DS3 controller, it works pretty well. No noticeable lag or dropped inputs that I can recall after using it for 2 years. Every other controller I've tested it on that should be compatible however, I immediately notice very glaring issues that pretty much cause it to be unusable.Considering it seems that there's no real alternatives around, if you're fine with or even prefer the DS3, it works great, though I feel it still is a bit pricey for a single unit. Otherwise, you may want to try to search around for some alternative setup. Maybe 8BitDo will come out with a PS2 Bluetooth adapter as they have for the NES/SNES and other consoles (which so far, I've had zero issues using any Bluetooth compatible controller I own).

My PS2 has a broken fuse on the motherboard, this means that the console is not able to supply enough power to the controller to make it vibrate.Using this adapter, I can finally use my PS2 with vibration again! It also works correctly with pressure sensitivity if you're using a PS3 controller, meaning games like Metal Gear Solid 2 and GTA San Andreas work as intended. There is support for PS4 controllers, but games that require pressure sensitive buttons will not work correctly.Plug it all together as seen in the photo, press the PlayStation button on the controller, wait for it to pair, unplug it, and press the PlayStation button again, and then controller will connect. If you have the same problem with your PS2 as me, and you want to use a PS3 controller, you will also need to purchase an adapter that converts micro USB to mini USB. I included pictures of this adapter so you know what to look for. I was able to buy one from my local Micro Center.----TL;DR: All in all, this is a fantastic little device. There's no input lag, vibration works for both PS1 and PS2 games, and pressure sensitivity is supported if you're using a PS3 controller.----Update: Final Fantasy 8 for the PlayStation 1 does not have rumble using this adapter, this is the only game that I have played that does not work correctly.

It's unfortunate that Brook isn't as well known in the gaming community. They've been around for a while and have always created quality products that exceed expectations. Well known in the fighting game community for custom PCBs that are easy to install and use for custom arcade sticks - they also have a history of making quality controller converters. This device allows you to pair a PS3 or PS4 DualShock to use via a wired or wireless connection with either a Playstation 1 or 2. Even better, it also allows the use of your arcade sticks with these legacy consoles as well. My Hori Real Arcade Pro Hayabusa for PS4 hooks up via the USB connection on the device and also works flawlessly. As good quality, authentic PS1 and 2 controllers are becoming harder and harder to find - and brand new ones are quite expensive, this device will ensure you have plenty of controller options for your legacy Sony systems for quite a few more years. A little pricey, but trust me, the quality is well worth the price of admission.
