First time using a 2000watt 120v heating element and this controller, set on Switch, set to 200°F, put the sensor probe up in the 90 degree 2in column and it ran great.

My application for this unit is for a smoker. The upper end of the SV just covers my smoking needs which should help with accuracy and control since the temperature range is tighter than on typical smoker PIDs. I like that I have 3 modes to choose from where the Inkbird only has 2 (does not have simple on/off thermostat mode). That's a great feature to be able to not have to be so tight with temp control if the PID becomes an issue and I don't like the results in the meat. Replaced the sensor with one that has longer leads. The sensor is not a thermocouple. It's a 10k NTC. This applies most probably to the inkbird as well as they look to be identical. I will do some exploratory surgery to see what the insides of the controller looks like and assess it's quality. I am a retired engineer and love tinkering and improving upon designs as most need it since price is a factor in their marketing. I'm happy!
