Still great gun cases even though now made overseas. Just too bad so many things have been moved and manufactured oversees for cheap labor.

High quality gun case. Has nice elastic holders for chokes in the Velcro pouch.

I've owned another similar Boyt case for over 25 years now and it's still holding up great. Wouldn't expect anything less from this one. Quality is there, good materials, and solid stitching. Like others have said, I would have preferred a zipper over velcro for the accessory pocket but that is my only gripe.

What firearm doesn't cost a load of cash? May as well give it the best for transport and storage.

This is an outstanding case! This one is for my son’s 26” Benelli. I have a case just like it that is at least 10 years old, and I bought mine because my father has a Boyt case that is at least 15 years old. These cases do not show wear! The Alaskan series is a soft, pliable canvas with lots of padding for protection. If there were a 10 star rating, I would give it that. I am very happy with the quality of this case.

Large is the perfect size for my mossberg 500 with a 26in field barrel.

Product Review: Boyt Harness Alaskan Series Shotgun Case (Medium)In keeping with the canvas look, I decided to go with the this soft case instead of the previously reviewed 48' Alaskan Series Scoped Rifle Case (20Dec2014). The way I saw it, if it failed to work with the M-44, then it would be a new home for the 590A1...So, does it fit?Does a grossly overweight trucker fit in a Speedo?Sure, but the bulging parts will probably wear through with too much friction. This case is *snug* over the bayonet hinge. If "Dushka" could speak, she would say something along the lines of it "feeling funny, like the rope in gym class". Doable, and perhaps the lack of wiggle room would work well when it comes to performing the "get inna woods" part of the readers' emergency plan, but stripping off the case in a jiffy would be akin to, as George Carlin once put it, "getting wet leather leggings off of someone who is kicking".Even for "Sarge", the 590A1, it would be much easier to rack a hasty shell and panic perforate the end of the case than to tug the snag-hazard of a bayonet lug clear of the very nicely quilted interior. All in all, very good case and definitely a keeper - heed the warning and go with the larger case.

The case is of very high quality material and is perfect for taking my shotgun to the club all the time. The dual zippers are great, although I did forget once and oops...good thing for ninja reflexes. As all the other reviews state, I expect this case to last a very long time. The only complaint I have is that the color that it shows up as on the internet is definitely not the color it actually is. Even though it says clearly "olive drab," every computer I brought up the picture on showed it was a very bright vivid green. So, I had hoped it would be the pretty green on the picture (hah), but was fine taking the risk of the olive drab, and I'm happy with it. But the picture is definitely deceiving. That's irrelevant as to the product's usefulness etc., but just thought I'd let it be known.

Have owned several soft cases over the years, all of them in the budget range. Wanted something better for my new shottie, a case that would stand the test of time. Think I found a winner here.Case has a real old-school look, reminds me of what guys were using back in the 50's and 60's. No-nonsense olive drab, no fancy adornments or stylish accents.Materials are top of the line - HEAVY canvas cover that could take on a barbed-wire fence without tearing. Plush flannel-like liner beds the gun securely. All materials are breathable, making this an excellent choice for high-humidity areas or long-term storage. Oversize brass zipper w/double pulls - ought to last forever. A little snaggy at first, but a spritz of Rem Oil smoothed it out. Excellent stitching, reinforced in all the right places. More loft (padding) then you see in most products, providing maximum protection. Shoulder strap works well, and attaches to the main body very securely. This strap is not going to tear loose. A quality item all the way.The Medium size fits my 42" shotgun very well, with about an inch to spare. Inside tag says 44", but I think that may be pushing it. Measure carefully, and visit Boyt's website for more details on sizing. Shouldn't have a problem fitting any gun under 52".Pricey, yes, but that's nothing compared to the cost of a new firearm. If you prefer a soft case like I do, this is as good as it gets for the price.
