The three-flat shank provides aggressive gripping power.

Ate through adobe wall in one go. Snagged up on wire, but kept going. Really handy to have, probably dulled it some but it will last for years no doubt

HVAC guys wanted a few hundred dollars to run two new condensate lines and punch them through concrete block & stucco. Took longer to set up and clean up after I was done than it did to drill the holes with this. Great bit.

I've never seen a massive drill bit like this. It's a beast that'll happily chew through a stone brick. I had to make a hole to get some 3/4 pex through to create a water tap outside. Previous I was trying one of those flimsy cylinder hollow bits. That didn't work at all. But this bit, no problem! I didn't use any cooling. Used my regular battery operated drill on this. I think the drill bit did not wear out yet, so I can use this again. Pretty decent deal I think!

Bought this bit to install new light outside the garage. Happy with the results. Went through the brick like through the butter.

I probably should have bought the next thickness up, but I was able to widen the hole with the auger part of the bit. As for the head, did a great job going through foundation concrete - no burn marks at the tip from overheating. In my case, effectiveness was more a factor of my Makita hammer drill (you don't need a Bosch for this bit). The triangle chuck grip was a must for my Makita and this Bosch bit had that.

You can drill a 10 1/2 inch hole if you take a smaller bite on the bit with your chuck.Over all a good well made bit.

I bought the Bosch 5/8 masonry bit to make 2 and 1/4 inch long holes in a concrete basement slab floor [the holes were for receiving 1/2 inch (outside diameter) drop-in anchors]. As a DIY’er, my hammer drill only has 5.4 amps and I was worried that perhaps the 5/8 bit would be too much for the drill to handle. And indeed it was painfully slow going with the 5/8 bit compared with the 1/4 inch bit that I tried next. Fortunately I decided to experiment by using using the 1/4 hole as a pilot hole for the 5/8 bit and it made a world of difference. The 5/8 bit did not wander but followed the pilot hole perfectly. So in short, for those of you with less powerful hammer drills, you might first want to make a pilot hole [I'm guessing that besides 1/4 inch, other smaller bit sizes, e.g., 3/16, 5/16, 3/8, might also work for pilot holes].

Purchased this to install a Ring Floodlight camera on the front of my house. The area above the garage has brick installed. Used this masonry bit to drill through the mortar between brick to run the electrical wire. I pre-drilled the hole with a 3/16" bit to ensure my channel was centered. This bit was a little wider than the mortar joint, but the bit chewed right through. both the mortar and the sides of the brick.

I had to put some driveway reflectors on the front grass strip in front of my house because people kept driving on to it, but there's concrete just about 1-2 inches under the soil so I needed to bore through that. I got this bit, fired up the hammer setting on my Bosch cordless drill, and plowed through that concrete like it was dry soil. Excellent bit, and seems about as sharp when I finished as when I started.

This drill bit worked great for my project! I had to drill 4.5" deep holes in some old (18 year old) concrete to install some re-bar. It took only about 5 - 10 minutes per hole, using a hammer drill. I only drilled five holes, so no problems at all with the bit becoming dull.I've worked a lot with concrete, but have never had to attach a new concrete pad to an old one using re-bar. Read many "experts" discuss what size drill bit to use for a given diameter re-bar. Using the recommendation of 1/8" larger diameter drill bit, e.g., using a 5/8" drill bit for 1/2" re-bar didn't work. Using 5/8" drill bit for 5/8" re-bar, and pounding the re-bar in a little with a hand sledge worked great. Just FYI.
