This works OK the stickies that they send with it don’t stick very well and it’s not black on both sides so from the outside of my house it looks like tin foil. My neighbors probably think I’m trying to keep aliens out. But it does block the light well if you can get it to stick I had to do some modifications.

I love these, I got them for my 6 month old sons room, they work wonderfully, his room is almost pitch black even at the brightest part of the day. I am impressed. They are slightly time consuming to install, especially with my babyboy not letting me get much done. I learned a lot after my first window and found a much more effective and less time consuming method. Put all the sticky Velcro patches you desire on the window first, in every spot ready to go. Then cut MORE than what the size of the window is. My first window I want to redo it since I tried cutting the blackout curtain to the exact size of the window and now it lets light in a little bit, don't love that luckily that's my fault and totally fixable. Have something that makes cutting easy and fast (not scissors). X-Acto knife would be my suggestion or something like that, scissors were a nightmare to try and work with. After I was finished I put blackout curtains over the windows as well which isn't necessary and didn't make the room darker, I just thought it looked good. The Velcro sticky patches are easy to work with and easy to take off the window when done with them and doesn't leave residue.

Extremely strong gasoline/solvent/chemical smell. Would not put in children’s room or bedroom like this. I’m going to lay it out in the garage to off-gas for 3 weeks. If no better, back it goes.Update: the smell was completely gone after about 3weeks (maybe sooner, I didnt check) and I wiped the plastic off with a damp cloth as the seller suggested. Its great now! Works just as needed to keep my basement home theater very dark for daytime movies.Also the seller was very kind, helpful and supportive.

Simple and easy to install, absolutely light blocking so much that waking up in the middle of the day can be disorienting due to the darkness. The kit comes with tons of goodies to help making it a great value. The material is very thin but it's big enough to do a huge window. I've had no issues with the Velcro but the double sided sticky dots aren't super great when it gets cold.

Liked how easy it was to cut to size, easy to instal, perfect blackout - i works shift work so these cut the sunlight by about 98 percent. With my regular curtains, i could not see without turning on the light. Not only did they block the light they helped keep rooms cooler.
