I have tried many, many booties for my dog at all different price points--these are by far the best as they stay on almost most of the time. i wish they were just a wee bit smaller as even the small is a bit big for my dog's paws. Having said that, because they are a bit roomy at the bottom, it makes it easier to get them on. While not 100% waterproof (the upper sock part is make of a nylon material), they have held up quite well for quick walks in the melty snow. Would 100% buy again.

The concept of double straps is what I liked, but the socks are not long enough for our pit bull, so they still slide down her leg and the rubber area does not fit her paws correctly. We only tried one on her bad leg. Also, one of the socks came with only 1 strap. Disappointed!

My large senior 17 year old dog was losing his ability to get up from the hardwood floors and his back legs would sprawl out when standing any period of time. This helped instantly. They stay up a few hours but have to keep pulling them up when they slide off his paws. They work well for my senior 18year old Jack Russell and stay put for the most part.

Update: The hook and loop fasteners on these socks are ultra effective. So effective that I have significant difficulty in finding the ends to unfasten them. It becomes twice the challenge if my boy is "antsy" while I am attempting to remove them. I have found a way to alleviate this that would be most helpful if the manufacturers of all socks and boots for dogs would employ, but it is something you can do for yourself. I use a cheap razor and shave approximately 1/8 of the end to remove the hook aspect. This leaves a small tab that allows me to find the end of the strap and hold onto it to remove the sock. One note, the razor will be trash after you do this.I am going to try melting this end smooth with a household iron in the near future when I get another set of socks. Melting the end smooth would be the approach a manufacturer would, in all probability, employ. I tried it with a soldering iron, but it was too hot and melted the entire tip as opposed to just flattening the hooks.Just had another idea while typing this. I am going to apply a spot of JB weld to the end. It will give definition to it as well as preventing the end from adhering. Any fast drying epoxy should work, I just happen to have JB weld in my tool box and it sticks to virtually anything.Initial review:It appears as though these will be durable. Also great that I can leave my boy out/in without removing his shoes every time. Fabric socks with grippers work great on slick floors, but are not practical for outside wear. If these get anything on the rubber feet they can be easily cleaned. Great for rainy days. One thing I have found helpful on these socks: They have two, highly effective, hook and loop bands. They are somewhat difficult to adjust when putting on the socks as they really stick well, especially to each other.I have found them easier to put on when only one band is used, and the other removed.

Be aware, the sizing of these is not even close to sizing on other products! My 14 year old, 70lb golden lab (average sized lab) wears medium socks from other companies but requires an extra large in this product; even an extra large is snug on his feet and barely makes it past his elbow. The dual Velcro straps seem like the problem solver but the sock ends at his elbow and is, therefore, alwas slipping down.Furthermore, the lack of quality in this product is disappointing. The rubber bottoms are not durable and show wear after two days of indoor use. They are not water proof as my dogs paws got wet walking across wet pavement by a downspout, not even a puddle! Additionally, the bare minimal was covered with rubber coating; it would be enough to get traction - if they never slid down. If the sock even falls slightly my dog is slipping everywhere because the fabric is what is contacting the floor. The bottoms that snap the Velcro wrap to the sock are not done well; on two of the Velcro straps they are so close to the edge they have already started pulling out. Lastly, instead of using a double sided piece of Velcro, the manufacturer decided to use two separate segments of Velcro, a short piece of hooks that attaches to a long run loops. While being lower quality, this would work; however, the connection between these two pieces is poor and one ripped apart the first time I put them on.It's truly disappointing that a product at this price point was manufactured so cheaply; I would expect to find these in the discount aisle at the dollar store.

I think these socks could be dramatically improved by expanding the rubberized area further up the sock. The rubberized area has great grip and is indeed waterproof, but the velcro straps that are supposed to keep the socks on only keep them on, they don't keep them up. So, as my dog walks around and the socks slide down her feet, the rubber part gets pushed off her feet and she ends up walking on the knitted portion...and when I say walking, I mean falling, because the knitted portion is as slippery as any normal sock. Because the paw is wider than the lower leg, the socks don't come off, but because the sock is so long, it easily slips down to that point. Continuing the rubberized portion at least a little closer to the velcro straps would be a huge improvement.Unfortunately, I had to stop using them because the slipping and falling was getting risky. But they worked great for the first thirty minutes or so after I put them on her or adjusted them back up.If you want to get some anyway, I would advise ordering a size up if you're close to the next size. I ordered within the measurements, and it fit, but it was a little tight in the lower paw area.
