You get what you pay for couldn't be more true. I had another peacoat that was only 100 or so dollars. Within a few months the lining in the pockets split, buttons became loose, and the pilling was horrendous. This coat however has none of those issues. I have yet to notice any pilling. The pockets are durable and the buttons are well and truly fastened. I couldn't be happier. The quality is night and day superior and it isn't over priced. The sizing is a bit off so I would recommend a size smaller than you would normally wear. Other than that I can't imagine you will not be satisfied. I'd give it five stars but I feel it could use four buttons instead of three.

So I pulled the trigger on this jacket after looking at countless others from Doublju, Kennith Cole, Affliction, Perry Ellis etc etc etc. Although the price was very reasonable I was more interested on the positive reviews it got. Mind you these reviews were still positive even though the sizing was a little fubar'd!I ordered this jacket on a Friday morning and it arrived at my door by Tuesday afternoon. Very prompt shipping and although I would have preferred the item to have arrived in a box the packaging was sufficient. The jacket came wrapped in a nice thick plastic sheath, each button was protected by wax coated paper and on the inside along with the manufacturers standard tag was a package containing 2 extra large buttons.I ordered the Charcoal (nearly black-perfect for what I wanted!) in a size Large. I'm 6 foot and 224 pounds; I have a slight gut but broad shoulders and a pretty large chest. I typically wear large sized fitted shirts (not boxy or supper baggy) therefore when I read other reviews showing their height and weight being close to mine and ordering a MEDIUM (they weighed about 180-200)I took the chance on a large. The fit isn't all that bad, the shoulders and the arm length are perfect, the mid section could have been brought down just a little bit but this extra space does mean wearing a sweater underneath it will not look ridiculous! The length of the coat wasn't too bad either, I would have preferred the jacket to have been 1 inch shorter...but; this jacket is supposed to compliment many body types so I'm not complaining.Overall I'm pretty satisfied with the coat itself; it's warm without being too warm; the fabric feels pretty good considering its 20% synthetic and the weight is sufficient enough to know you're wearing it without feeling like you're carrying it on your shoulders. It's a comfortable coat, has nice lines and don't get me wrong the mid section does have a slight "fitted" look to it and is not boxy like many others. If you're looking for a nice coat and at a great price I'd recommend this one to anyone.I've uploaded some pictures of me wearing the jacket, I apologize for the lack of focus and lighting (used my camera phone).

Ordered a Medium in Charcoal/Gray and it arrived in two days. I am 6'1" and 160 lbs, and, based on previous comments here, took a chance on Medium. That was the right choice for me; it is on the roomy side over a shirt, but fits fine over a sweater or sweatshirt. The sleeves are longer than expected but not too long (I wear a 34" sleeve dress shirt). A Small might have worked, but the length, both overall and sleeves, was a concern, and I like having room for a bulky wool sweater underneath. The charcoal color is much darker than pictured here on Amazon, almost black. There is no top button to keep the collar closed, but if it's cold enough for that a scarf wrapped around the outside and tucked in works just fine. The quality is good, although as others have noted the buttons may need reinforcing before too long. It's a nice, thick, wool coat and is quite warm. Just right for walking the dogs on chilly winter mornings. You can perhaps get a better fit in a bricks-and-mortar store or from a tailor, but for an online order this worked out pretty well. Previous reviewers are right that the sizes are a bit on the large size, so try your usual size for wearing over a sweater or a size smaller for a more fitted look, definitely don't go the other way. Traditional anchor buttons would have been a nice touch, but for the price and the convenience of online ordering, this coat can't be beat.

I purchased 2 of these coats: A small charcoal and a medium black. I normally wear medium but after reading the reviews, I decided to get a small to try both sizes on.When they came in, they were EXACTLY the same size (with different tags). There is an older review that says: "This coat was really nice. Unfortunately the medium fit like a large and they didn't have any smaller sizes." I'm not going to judge here but you can guess what is going on....Anyway, they fit fine on me so I'm not going to take any stars away...The quality is very good and the build is fine. Also if you have been looking up other peacoats, this one has one of the best prices. So this is potentially the best option if you are looking for a reasonably priced peacoat. BUT the packaging:I received the 2 coats in separate shippings, both of them had all buttons very neatly wrapped in paper, as other ppl have mentioned. "Ain't that cute?" you're probably asking. Not when the whole coat is CRUMBLED in the box and full of wrinkles. They are less visible when you put the coat on and I am pretty sure it is easily fixed in dry-cleaning, but nevertheless, this item had terrible packaging BOTH times it was sent to me.
