I needed to replace a single spoke that had broken mysteriously. Reading about spokes I learned that the most important detail is size. Spokes differ in length and they are generally not interchangeable. So I measured the broken spoke and achieved excellent results.These spokes are more expensive than some other similar items, but spokes are often sold in larger bundles so these were not too pricey. I was surprised to discover how well they are made. Rust won't be an issue.

I own and older 90's Huffy mountain bike which had a couple bent and broken spokes. It has the older 26" sized wheels. I had never replaced any spokes before so this was new to me. I removed the old ones and measured the length exactly. This is the most important part for getting the right size. These arrived at the specified size.These are fairly easy to install, but you will need a spoke wrench and a spoke tension gage. Both of these items are available here on Amazon at a reasonable price. I was able to get these on and set at a tension similar to the surrounding spokes. I was also able to true the rim up at the same time using the spoke wrench and tension gage.Don't be afraid to give it a try. These spokes are great and will fix up your old wheel.
