Soles on these break down way too fast, mine were completely worn out after a year. Attempted to have them repaired by a Vibram approved cobbler and they said this sole design is no longer available. They attempted to use another Vibram sole and it failed within a month. I used to love Asolos, this was my go to footwear for years but I can’t justify the expense anymore for shoes that only last a year without even getting that much mileage. Time to find something new, the quality has really declined recently.

I think this is my 4th pair of these boots. I wear them all the time, and a pair will last me 4 years or so. Every time I get a new pair and put them on, it's like seeing an old friend. The fit and comfort has been unwaveringly perfect every single time.

My last pair held up for 15 years, hoping not to experience the soles coming loose after a year or two like I’ve read in other reviews. I use them for hiking and work boots. They are rigid and offer a lot of protection and are super comfortable,

I walk 20k steps daily as a construction super. Rock mud concrete. They are perfect in terms of support. My feet were hurting with keens and redwings. I have also worn ariat, Durango, etc. which are all great for 6 months.Truly a great product, slip Resistant, waterproof and tested a lot, great leg and ankle support. I had looked at purchasing before but they were $600 or so, but now $300. Thank from my feet!

After reading all the wonderful reviews, I decided to go ahead and make the plunge on investing $300.00 for a pair of hiking boots. These boots greatly disappointed me. The soles started coming apart after only 1 month hiking on the AT. 2 weeks after shipping the boots back per the instructions. I contacted the company Bob Wards to get a status on the return. Their response was that they hadn't received them, which is complete BS. Do not buy from this seller unless you are sure of the item and the quality of it because this seller will lie and do anything to get out of doing the right thing.

My wife loves these boots. It is her 3rd pair! Hiking, working, or playing, she likes the support they provide. Quality materials and workmanship make Asolos a first class manufacturer of high quality footwear.

I am 67 years old, and purchased my first leather Asolos in 1990. I still have all 3 pairs. They haven't changed much over those years. The first pair I had resoled by the famous Seattle boot cobbler twice. However, the uppers finally gave out; but I can't bear to throw them away. The second pair needs new soles, so I decided to get a 3rd pair a year ago, so I would not be without any boots for a long period. The 2nd pair needed new soles because I wore them down, not because they separated. I injured one of my feet badly and now need to size up one of the boots, so now I am buying my fourth pair. I have never had the separation problem with the sole, but I hike very little in the water or ankle deep mud. It appeared from the photos of the negative comments that those boots had spent a lot of time very wet. Looking for a lighter weight boot, I have tried many other boots and find nothing that comes close to the sole and ankle protection, balance and comfort. And these are still made by Asolo, a really good Italian manufacturer.
