I buy these in bulk to teach tablet weaving classes and they are by far the best cards I've found for the price. I'm not sure what others are complaining about regarding the size (I think the cards from Schact are bigger?) - I use them for my own personal projects as well as for teaching others and have never had an issue with the shed being too small. They're also of a similar size as many sets of historically-based wooden tablets in my collection. I have a set of bone tablets based on an extant find that are even smaller.I still find myself reaching for these instead of my wooden ones because the labeling on the faces/edges is so convenient. Sure, they can get bent up and dinged, but I've never had one outright tear on me or become impossible to turn in the middle of a project. I've used these cards with 8/4 rug warp (fairly chunky yarn) and 20/2 cotton (skinny yarn only slightly thicker than sewing thread - I was concerned may saw through the cards) without issue. The photo below is of my current 20/2 cotton project with these cards. They're a little beat up because I use binder clips to keep them from rotating when I'm not working on it, but even with that I can turn them just fine and the holes are not worn. I've also noticed that I have fewer issues with maintaining a consistent band width and tension when using these cards, due to them being so skinny. A stack of paper cards ends up being very similar in width to the ideal width of the band, vs. plastic or wooden cards that are 1-2mm thick and can quickly exceed the natural width of the band. (Not that a thick stack of cards can't be overcome, it's just a personal preference!)The only downside that I've found with these cards is that although the holes are pre-punched, the paper is still in the holes and needs to be removed by hand before use. I usually just put on a TV show and finish the punch-out process in a tupperware container so there isn't hole-punch confetti everywhere. After that, they're ready to go.If you're having consistent issues with these cards getting damaged beyond usability, upgrading to wooden or plastic cards may benefit you (probably at least at 10x the price), but I don't think it's due to any design flaw with the cards. And at approximately 10 cents per card, I don't think anyone should have a problem with retiring beat up ones. They're also great for giving away to people who are new to tablet weaving and want to practice more. There are definitely other types of cards out there, but to me these ones are perfect for my purposes.

Nice cards but may be a bit “flimsy” so I am not sure how many uses they will give befor wearing out.

I'm used to cards 2.5 x 2.5 inch. I splurged and bought wooden cards.

Read carefully! These are super small! Useless for anyone but tiny kids. I can’t imagine who else was intended.
