Nice and thick, holding my 15 gallon, smelled a little chemically tbh, but it went away, I think it was caused by the heat.

I had a zoomed 50 gallon frag tank (4' x 2' footprint, 50 gallons) on a stand I made with casters so I could roll it if needed. This fram was made from 2x4's and was not perfectly level all across. Neither are most iron stands. After sever years the first one cracked while I was home. Bought a new tank, filled it, and it cracked again - but this time within 48 hours. Then - I bought a 3/4" sheet of plywood to lay across the stand and bought another tank. Did not fill it and cold see light under the tank all over so I bought two of these pads. So far so good. I have had tank number three set up on it for months now and it's working great. From now on I am not setting up anything over 20 gallons without these pads.

Great product, I just wish it was a little wider other than that, don't stick it on something you like because getting it off is difficult/destructive depending on what you stick it to, that being said you won't have the product curling up and looking bad like I have seen other brands do. I would recommend this. 👍

This mat unrolls nicely and has a real good ratio of resistance/compressibility. It feels tough enough to indeed cradle something with the weight of a modest aquarium. I do suspect that if your tank is too heavy, it'll just squish this flat and won't level it at all. But a tank would probably need to be too big for this, or disproportionately tall/deep, to weigh that much.No matter what it'll provide a nice uniform black visual under the tank for the critter in it, and nice surface protection for any furniture your tank sits on. Some amount of vibration protection for everyone in the tank, too. It's also quite a nice, long roll, so you can probably use it for a couple of tanks, or have some left over to cushion other things.I will say that I saw the "3M" paper backing in the photos, and read the listing to figure out if these mats have an adhesive backing. I didn't see anything in the listing that indicated there was. Well, it definitely does have an adhesive backing, and a pretty strong one. Feels at least as strong as the glue on the back of rolls of good, strong velcro.Which, if that's what you want, great. But if not, it's annoying, and it's also hard to just ignore, because if you cut this mat at all – which you probably will, since it's so nice and long – there's a good chance the paper cover won't cut cleanly and a little corner of the adhesive will be exposed. Forcing you to trim the mat above it, messing up its clean shape, or deal with it some other way.So, if you want it adhesive-backed, great, give it a shot. If not, be warned, this stuff is VERY sticky under the paper backing.--Side note: I got this in part to try to decouple a bass amp from the furniture or floor it sits on, to keep the entire room from turning into a vibrating loudspeaker. I've read that neoprene can work nicely for that. I'm not sure if this is that kind of neoprene. One layer didn't seem to do much; I'm going to try again with two layers. I didn't factor that into my rating, though, because that's not this product's stated purpose! Just mentioning in case anyone else looking has the same idea.
