WHAT IS ANNULAR CUTTER?

Annular cutter (also called as slugger cutter,slugger bits,broach cutter ) is form of core drill used to create holes in metal,annular cutters, named after the annulus shape, cuts only a groove at the periphery of the hole and leaves a solid core or slug at the center.

Annular cutter is a more efficient alternative to spiral drill bits and standard hole saws,annular cutter is similar to a hole saw but differs in geometry and material,an annular cutter cuts only the periphery of a hole, leaving a circular "slug" at the center.

The two most common types are high-speed steel (HSS) annular cutter and tungsten carbide tipped (TCT) annular cutter.

COMPARE WITH HSS ANNULAR CUTTER AND WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE TCT ANNULAR CUTTER?

The biggest advantage of TCT annular cutters is speed and ease in which it may cut harder materials,especially for boring larger diameter holes in hard materials, TCT cutters can be used to great success.

The linear speed requirement is higher than that of HSS.

The teeth on TCT annular cutters are harder than HSS, allowing them to cut more difficult materials.

APPLICATION

1.The cutting speed:VC=20-25m/min

2.The reasonable rotate feed amount shall be fn=0.08-0.13mm/r.The reasonable feed rate shall be vf=36-60mm/min. "Weldon shank" annular cutters have 2 flats and fix in the chuck by tightening grub screws in the two flat areas.

3.Insert the ejector pin inside the annular cutter.

4.Fill the coolant tank with oil lubrication.

I have hole saws and drill bits but if course you need these for drilling thick metal or plates which is very useful and convenient. The quality is prevalent and of compensate for its price

These easily cut through 100+ holes in high-temper steel and soft aluminum. The key is running these at recommended feeds and speeds and ensuring proper cooling/cutting oil is provided. Stainless and AR400 to aluminum and stainless 409 proved no match for these bits. Would highly recommend for the price as these will last for a long time if well taken care of.

Made with precision to very tight tolerances. Tungsten carbine tips attached with silver give them the strength and durability to get whatever job is needed of them. Normally I would test them un-scientifically like I do sockets but being that these are precision cutters hitting then with sledgehammers might just push them out of their required tolerances so a hands on inspection of quality will have to do before cutting with them. The pieces and parts all fit together well and gaps and tolerances are consistent throughout the set of cutters. The sizes are etched into each cutter for reference. The groves make the debris flow away smooth from what is being cut. Comes with two pilot pins as well as a case with a rubber like substance so each is cradled and kept separate from one another to keep them from banging into each other during transport. Time will tell the tale of their longevity so if a update is needed I’ll drop a few words post haste but for now I’m satisfied with the quality of and the functionality of the set of thirteen pieces. Four Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!

I used to use the big Silver & Deming drills for large holes, but they were difficult to use unless you stepped up to final size in small increments. These work so much better. And they are better than hole saws. Recommended
