Our home was built in 1999 and had blinds whose pullies were captured by this contraption and which eventually broke. We left it that way for a couple of years until I decided to look on the internet to see if there was any mention of this item from years gone by. Surprisingly, I found the replacement, overnighted it, and installed it the next day. My wife is glad this challenging phase of our marriage is behind us! I replace an old broken cord tensioner with this. Installation was a bit tricky since the bottom screw was very near the floor but I don't think that is a design fault. The rest of the installation was easy. So far it is working well.

Was pleasantly surprised of the quality and function. The swivel base makes it east to attach to wall or trim. It is a little long but blends in well with white trim. Highly recommend.
