Once the dinky little c-clip holding the bearings on decides to let go you are screwed. Amana has a part number for that but good luck getting ahold of them or it. I've had vetter luck with the $23 yonico or off brand bits with the press fit bearing retainer.

I've use my 51430 bit to route out 4 doors and 4 window openings on 2 teardrop trailers through .030" anodized aluminum.Other bits I've used gave up half way around the openings in my pictures.I love the dual bearings and the down cut.In my opinion, Amana has always made the best router bits.It may be a bit expensive but it's a lot cheaper than replacing several inferior bits to do the same job.

I used for solid Aluminum laminate, Formica Decometal 605 Brushed Aluminum. It is only good for 20 feet long, after that it is not good anymore.Do not buy it, also it is too expensive. I am planning to return it.

I had a project to build three large trophy cases that required 18 sheets of Chemetal decorative aluminum. I laid up 4x8 sheets and trimmed them with standard, straight flute carbide bits and it was slow going and the aluminum built up around the router bits. I knew that when we get to the finishing part, when we had to trim the metal to metal finished edges, the regular bits would not work. I purchased the Amana 1/2" and 1/4" spiral bits and the job went perfect. Although the aluminum is a lot tougher to work with than standard laminate, these bits made it as easy as possible. I wouldn't think about tackling another similar type project without them.
