Nice reeds. They sound nice and are easy/comfortable to use. They provide good value for the money and function nicely, however, these are not better than synthetic reeds. To experiment and figure out what strength of reed you like I would highly recommend these but compared to a good synthetic reeds these are quite average.

They're unremarkable reeds. The cases they come with are not ideal for storage, they give no opportunity for airflow, and I'm concerned about wet reeds getting weird.

Usually use 3s for practicing staying in tune and 2.5 if I want to practice more for fingering, and these are great for that. Like other 2.5s its very easy to play, albeit slightly harder to keep in tune. The package was great, nothing was chipped out of the box, price is fine but not outstanding. Only 3 in the pack so its great for a test run, if you like it, buy more, if not, swap to something else later.

These reeds worked great for my son's alto sax instrument, were easy to use and fit the mouthpiece well. They are a good value and they helped his instrument to have a high quality sound. Great for beginners or experienced players, would recommend as these worked as good or better than the expensive music store brands.

I've ordered a number of not-quite-name-brand reeds from A. None of them are quite equal to the best of the natural cane reeds from well known brands. The finish quality of the cane itself isn't as good, and the reeds are a tiny bit shorter. (In one of the photos, I show a comparison of size with another brand of reed in the middle. You can see the two "DeerPink" reeds are a little shorter.)I think these may be OK for practice, but keep your expectations low. I've no problem with them, really. They're OK.

I've been playing alto sax for almost 20 years now, and I was not expecting anything high quality with these reeds, as reeds are highly subjective and player-specific, and each player has a favorite brand. In addition, there's high variability from a number of factors within a pack of reeds and between packs. But I'm always willing to save a little money! I was well pleased with the tone, range, and quick speaking of these reeds. I compared them to my name brand box and these were actually a bit easier to get going initially. That is nice for a quick replacement but in my experience, that also means they won't last quite as long. That being said, the quality of these is exactly where I would expect them to be - not the best reeds I've ever had, but a great replacement in a pinch. I will keep them in my case as emergency backups and I look forward to seeing where the seller goes from here.

I was impressed with any cane reed manufacturer who would offer a sample of just three of their reeds to get a start. It was either a bold move born of confidence in their product or a foolish idea from go. For myself, when I buy a 10-pack of alto cane reeds I don’t expect to find more than three or four that will blow well. It seemed unlikely there would be even one good reed in a pack of just three.I was wrong. As a matter of fact, all three of these reeds were playable, one of them actually quite good. The best was clear and rendered a full tone. The other two were not quite as good but perfectly fine for most school bands and certainly for practicing at home. Of course there is no way to know if the subsequent reeds will be as good as these. And surely these reeds will be offered in the more standard industry package with 10 to a box. The price per reed for the Pinkdeer reeds is about $2.66, a well known French brand is $3.40, and an American made brand is $2.60. So the price is competitive with some well made reeds with a history.Bottom line is, only time will tell. If the Pinkdeer reeds are steadily as good as these samples, then they are going to be hard to beat. No way to know if that will happen or what the price may do. I will plan on trying some more down the road if they are still available and see how they are holding up.ONE NOTE: I have read that some of the Pinkdeer reeds are measurably smaller than other well known brands. In the picture I offer, the two reeds on the outside are Pinkdeer reeds. The two on the inside are two well known brands that have been in the business for many years. If there is any notable difference in size, it is miniscule. This will be a thing to watch as well if the Pinkdeer reeds keep coming. But for now, all things considered, the Pinkdeer reeds would appear to be reasonably good. Who knows about tomorrow.I recommend them with the suggestion to try three and see what happens with time. If I learn anything new with further use, I’ll come back and amend this review.Do your best for equipment. It helps. But bring your heart to the music, THAT is what makes it happen!

For the price, I was skeptical.I usually play Hemke #3 reeds. However, I do have a couple wider tipped mouthpieces that don't seem to play well with a #3. These #2.5's seemed to fit better. Two of the three played well out of the box. The good ones were quick to respond. They had a usable niente and a very good altissimo. The core sound was descent - definitely more suited for jazz and pop, but there was a subtle extra unpleasant buzz felt and heard coming from the reed's center. The third reed felt thicker and didn't play as well. Felt like the reed needed to be forced to work. There may be something going on the table and a ReedGeek may be all that's needed to salvage. The packaging is really cheap and should be discarded after the reed is taken out of the holder. All and all, not a bad purchase for the price.
