Arrived packaged very well. Got this for my Advent Heritage Speakers.Material is good quality and you are supplied with more than enough glue. Had some left over to use for other applications. Please understand that I am NOT A PRO, but I did my very best to apply this myself and it came out well. Not the best, but got the job done! I recommend being patient and really taking your time, DO NOT RUSH this.Have been using the speakers for the past 6 months daily after applying and their holding up great!Just make sure to watch the instruction videos, it's fairly straight forward. If I was able to do it, so can you!

I love literally everything about Simply Speakers. The foams are great, the glue is PERFECT, the instructional videos are amazing, customer service is impeccable. I will never switch to another vendor. I'm moving on to my 4th kit and going strong. First did Large Advents, Ohm Model L, then Advent Heritage...all successfully. Thank you !!!

I never rebuilt my own speakers. Unscrew the old speakers, gently peel off old foam, glue on new pieces. Wait a little while, put them back in. Like new sound! I will never throw out a pair of speakers again. 2 years, still works great.

The only reason I gave a 4 star rating is the instructions. I read through them and watched the video but my speakers were different. I watched other videos and got more tips how to make the repair. This is tedious work. Gluing a flat gasket to the angular speaker cone is tricky. The videos really don't explain well what you have to do. I will say the sound quality of my speakers is like the day I bought them. Someone could make money doing the refurbishment for others.

These replacement foam edges are excellent quality. My speakers sound as new and as loud without any distortion.Watch the video online and watch an expert do it. Cleaning the old cones off is the biggest part of the job. Gluing the new ones on is straight forward. Awesome product for DIY's.

I have a pair tower Advent Millenium speakers with two active woofers and two passive woofers. The foam edge fit the 8" active woofers, but did not fit the passive ones. Since the active woofers are the most important; the speakers sound pretty good again. But, don't have as much bass as they had before. Be sure to carefully clean the glue off the tube after you use it or it will be glued tight and you may not be able to get it off. They company has a large library of youtube repair videos and the one for this speaker was very helpful.

Saved me from having to pay hundr4eds of dollars for a professional to do the same thing. Probably took me longer however I learned a new skill. Hardest part was getting the old linings off and being precise about the new placement. They sound like new now!

I discovered my Advent Heritage speakers, which I bought new in 1992, had the foam rings surrounding each of the 4 woofers totally crumble and disintegrate. Back in the day when I bought them, I had researched a lot of reviews and decided on these, which had an acoustic suspension (sealed box) design. And at $650 for the pair, it was a huge investment for me. So I thought they were now done for. Once I searched for info online, I found these Advent speakers are now considered vintage/classic, and many say their sound quality is exceptional. That lead me to find this foam edge repair kit designed for these very speakers.I couldn't be happier with how well it worked. The instructional video they have online made it easy to understand how to make the repair. Tips:- Watch the video to see how to get the old rotted foam off each speaker. It isn't hard, but it is tedious and takes some time. Mine had decayed into a fairly sticky mess, and I found scraping didn't work that well. Rubbing it off with a cloth and rubbing alcohol did the trick.- Go easy on the glue. It may help to use a small tip brush or Q-tip. It starts off very thin but after a few minutes it begins to set up like rubber cement.- Be sure to follow the instructions to center the speaker cone and foam surround when you do the final gluing to the metal speaker frame. Push gently on the speaker cone on all sides to be sure it does not rub against the voice coil.- The above steps worked for 3 of my 4 woofers. But the 4th one did end up rubbing the voice coil and sounded awful. I wrote SimplySpeakers for tech support, and they said I could soften the glue with acetone and lift up the foam ring. That worked, and I found the speaker was badly misaligned no matter how I tried to adjust it manually. I probably played it for years damaging it without knowing the old foam was worn away. So I gently cut the dust cap away with a razor knife (leaving a flap to just pull it back). If you cut about 6 1/4" strips from a manilla folder, you can slide them in around the circular voice coil space to act as shims... ends up the manilla folder was just the right thickness and stiffness. I then used a Q-tip to reglue the foam ring to the metal frame, let it dry, pulled the shims out, re-glued the dust cap, and it worked perfectly. It sounds complicated but it isn't. The company's online videos are very good, and the tech support was a big help. For a few bucks and a little time and patience, my speakers are as good as new.
