Used to remove the harmonic balancer from a high mileage LM7. Started with the long shorter rod, then switch to the long. Lubed the threads first. Worked awesome.

I needed to remove a harmonic balancer from a LS2 engine and my "old school" puller wouldn't work on this application. Borrowed a puller from a friend and was blown away as to how easily the tool worked. Returned his puller and ordered my own unit. Seller shipped as described and on time. I haven't used the one I just recieved, but will be in the short future. Great tool! Thank you!

This worked great for my 2005 Chrysler 5.7l hemi engine. The issue with this engine is the depth of the hole in the crankshaft. Most of the other harmonic balancer pullers won't work for this engine due to short rods. The rods in this kit (ABN, model 4348479294) are 135mm, 165mm, and 190mm, plus the bolt is longer too at 90mm. I used the 190mm rod and pulled the harmonic balancer off in under 2 minutes. If the seller would include dimensions of the components, I'd give it 5 stars, but due to the incomplete description, I only give 4. Note: I have the engine out of the car on a stand. You might have problems with the longer rods while the engine is in the car, may need to take out radiator.

This worked great for pulling off harmonic damper off of my GM 6.0. Granted, I only used it once so I can't say how robust it is for long term constant use.Prior to the first use I coated the threaded parts of the jack bolt and puller housing with molybdenum disulfide and let it cure for a day to give it fighting chance.I used the kit's second longest push rod first in order to get the hollow end of the jack bolt past the puller body so the solid portion of the jack bolt is in the puller body, even if only for a few turns to break free the damper. I didn't want to go straight for the longest rod (which is correct for this application) and run the risk of the jack bolt crumbling internally at the hollow end when the hollow end would be at the puller body, trying to break free the balancer, plus less risk of a shorter push rod bending..Put a 24mm wrench on the puller body and set the other end of the wrench up top of the steering gearbox and used a 19mm socket / ratchet to turn the jack bolt. After beaking the balancer free, put the longest push rod in, set wrenches the same way, and walked the balancer right off.
