Easily removed my Moen shower cartridge. My cartridge was stuck in the valve. This screwed in and gave me something to grab so i was able to remove it. It works well on the cartridge I was removing and I expect it would work as well with other brands and styles. It saved me a lot of frustration. It comes in a nice storage box but the parts are loose in there and just rattle around, but at least they are all together. I am not a professional and only used it once so it was a little pricey but it is worth it not to have to fight with the cartridge trying to get it out of the valve. I would recommend it to friends and family.

Well made cartridge puller. It doesn't say this in the listing, but it is made for these specific Moen cartridges. My favorite part about this is that if your cartridge breaks and just the shell is left in the faucet, this kit includes a tool to help remove the shell.

When I ordered this I was a bit skeptical but once it arrived and I tried it I am now a fan of this tool to remove the Moen 1225 shower or faucet cartridges. The way this screws in and then gives you a handle to spin clockwise to pull the cartridge out with near zero effort is fantastic. I had used the old style aluminum cartridge puller and it was kind of a pain and did not have a the ease this puller has. I would highly recommend this tool to everyone who needs to swap a Moen style cartridge. It is a very professionally built tool of strong quality material and is designed for ease of use. Once you figure out how and what to do it is simple. Price is a little higher then I would expect but it works really well so probably worth it. This also comes in a nice plastic case to store it in.

A nearly identical clone of the very expensive Flowrite ONA tool. The finish on this is more shiny. It actually seems like a better finish.Threads move smoothly with no play. This is the design you want. You can do several tasks with this setup vs. just being able to pull the cartridge out.Be careful of the one piece tools. I had a cheap one which cross threaded itself and left me stuck with the water off.It came with a decent hard plastic container but there was a missed opportunity to have the tool fit nicely in it. As it is you need to keep the tool in the molded plastic package inside the hard case. If you had foam and ambition you could make it fitted.Highly Recommended - 4.7 stars

Ordered this Moen cartridge puller to replace the cartridge in my very old bathroom. Was never going to get it out without a tool like this. At a little less than $40 it is not cheap, but when you consider the price of calling a plumber this is probably going to be a safer bet. This is a generic version of the FloWRite tool that is made in the U.S.A for about twice the price. As a homeowner doing only a few fixtures in my lifetime this tool is much easier to use than the really cheap pullers. Came in a plastic clamshell. The instructional video is helpful for knowing what parts to use, the instructions could have been clearer.

First, I believe this is target audience is plumbers. The ad doesn't mention at all that it is for 3 different Moen shower cartridges. It is very heavy duty, they are HEAVY for what I would have expected. The threaded items have deep cuts and are rather wide so you likely couldn't strip the threads if you tried. Didn't come with instructions (another reason I think it is intended to be sold to someone that already knows about these tools. I currently needed to extract some cartridges from my shower/tub and I thought, hey maybe they will work. I was wrong. If you know how to use this item, it seems like it would be a lifetime purchase no matter the number of uses.

I've been using the cheap removal tool from packages of replacement cartridges. This set of tools is apparent with much better quality. The metal is more solid and it works for more than one type of cartridges. The tools including mechanism to pull the cartridge sleeve out if the stem of the cartridge separated during the pulling process. I don't know how that would work as I only had experience where the sleeve breaks during the pull. Of course once you pull the stem out, the broken sleeve pieces are easy to pick out with hand or needle nose plier. I can imagine that the tool here will further help to break the sleeve should it be separated from the stem. Overall I think the tools are a nice set, not perfected finished, but still a good set. The price is relatively expensive though.

I receive the new puller, it works fine. But don't try to use just brute force to take the valve out, you could pull the stem out by itself. Better to twist while pulling and if the valve does not want to come out maybe try a little silicone lube and let it sit a few minutes and try again. This made the removal of the cartridge effortless. Be sure to check the valve body and be sure there are no rubber or plastic pieces hanging around before you put the new unit in.
