Very lightly attracted to a magnet, so probably really are stainless. Sadly, metric threads, like much of this cheap foreign stuff that is incompatible with the usual US kayak accessories.

While these work in my tracks the screw thread is not compatible with some of my accessories as they are USA made with SAE threads. Stainless seems decent but just have to have accessory that it either not threaded or a metric fitting
