These super heavy duty post bases. Good price. Donโt look pretty, but easy to use. Holds posts up 1 inch off of surface itโs on. Unfortunately, I did have one of the six bases come in uneven so it doesnโt sit flat.RUSTIt is advertised as adjustable. They are labeled on the Amazon description as made of Galvanized metal and thus more rust resistant. I donโt know how true that is. I would think most post bases are made of galvanized metal and thus rustable. These are rather ugly looking as you can see in the photos. Their sole purpose and why you would buy them is for stability of the post. That is the most important thing obviously when building anything with 6x6 posts. If it rusts, it would be a pain to replace is the problem. I suppose there would be something to coat it with to prevent rust. The metal is so thick, it would take ages for any rust to be severe enough to corrode through this thick metal and make it unstable.ROTI like how it holds the posts 1 inch off of the surface they are placed on. That will help prevent rot in the wood. Thus, why it is required in some building codes. The post has air exposure (allowing the wood to dry out when wet) underneath it and on two sides with this post base. Some other post bases have the bottom of the post covered on all four sides and the bottom.ADJUSTABLEFor some dumb reason, I thought โadjustableโ meant that it would adjust if the posts were smaller than the size post it is designed to hold. I suppose since it screws into the post on only two sides, it could be a little smaller. The adjustable part is the oval shaped hole in the bottom to allow the base to adjust to the boltโs position.CONDITION I had five of the six bases come in perfect shape. One of the bases was noticeably uneven, so it doesnโt sit flat. I havenโt tried to bend it back into place. I doubt it will be easy to do so considering the thickness of the steel and getting it perfectly even so it sits flat would be even more challenging. It would be a scenario where a return is necessary. I donโt think it could have gotten that way during Amazonโs shipping process and my box was just fine.CONCLUSIONOverall, they seem to be plenty sturdy. I gave it only three stars because that one base was uneven making it pretty useless. If that didnโt happen, Iโd say they are a pretty good buy if you need sturdy post bases that meet a specific building code and for a good price. Looking online, the same bases or similar ones cost between $16 to $30 per base, so these are on the cheaper end. They appear to be identical if not better than others out there.

These are not stainless steel as advertised. Why is the supplier advertising it as stainless steel when itโs not. Do they not know what stainless steel is. Galvanized is not stainless steel. Supplier needs an education on metal.

These are actually strong brackets. I couldn't bend them over without putting them in a vise for leverage. Menard sells ones like these for almost $22.00 each. Their cheap version sells for about $11.00 each and I can bend them with no problem. Only real difference between this and $22 model is the metal that surrounds wood is 1/4" shorter and the nut is covered completely by a piece if metal. As for installing it, it's the same.

I recently received the post holders, and upon unboxing them, I was impressed. These holders are crafted from durable heavy steel, boasting a smooth finish without any sharp edges. Installing them was a breeze, thanks to the ample number of holes available for screwing them onto the post.

Have it a try, seems to be as good as the Simpson stuff. The only, and biggest, problem is that it is labeled for rough 6x lumber but is 5.75" on one side and slightly smaller on the other, so I had to trim my posts, not a huge deal unless you are going for a strict full-dimension appearance.
