RVers often need more than what's available in most repair kits, and this gives them more options than other kits for the same price. The instructions come in an illustrated format, flat-head and Phillips screwdrivers and scissors are the only tools needed. It's just another way we try to help RVers keep their rigs working well and looking good.

Fixed two of our RV blinds and saved a bunch of money. Not the easiest to restring, but two of us figured it out and very happy with the results!

I was a bit intimidated at first, but I decided to order since I couldn't afford to replace my blind. This came with everything I needed to make the repair. The blind works as it should now.

One of my RV window shades broke. With the repair kit and watching some YouTube videos repair was simple and easy. Watch the videos so you get the cord pattern correctly aligned.

I purchased this Pleated Shade Repair Kit after watching a YouTube video about fixing an RV Dinette Pleated Shade. I thought about just buying the cord but ended up using some of the other items in the kit and there was enough cord to fix two 5 foot shades so I'll give the kit 5 stars. The repair was far from easy though. It took my two friends and I about four hours to uninstall, repair and reinstall the shade in part because of the tight fit to the valance. One serious shortcoming to the shade repair is the original strings were crimped when attached to the spring and the YouTube video showed the replacement strings simply being tied to the spring and the raw edge taped. This repair obviously would not have lasted because the cord is slippery and the knots wouldn't have held. Since each hank of cord was long enough to replace two of the strings, we threaded one hank of cord through the spring, tied a knot and then threaded the cord through where two separate strings were previously. The shade now works and hopefully the repair will last.

Not what I was hoping for. Apparently this kit is meant for a particular brand of pleated shade. Other than the strings nothing in this kit is of any use to me.

First time restringing some day and night blinds. I liked the instruction book as it covered things step by step. The only bad part was the tip of the cord kept fraying and expanding fringing making it especially hard to fit through the end cap hole. I had to keep cutting tips off or wetting it to stay together. The retainers were a little different than my originals and held tight once you screwed in, nice update. Overall good kit.

Worked well in restringing the pleated shade and the fact that it includes all the parts needed to repair a pleated shade. Step by step instructions could have been a little clearer. The strings included could have been presented or packaged to a better advantage for the customer, however. The kit includes five 20 foot strings. On a large four string shade the strings work out to be about 12' or 13' long. So to restring such a shade requires 4 of the 5 packs of string and you wind up throwing away about 32 feet of string (4 8' long pieces). It seems to me that if they gave you a 100' spool of cord you could just cut the length of cord needed, and still have enough cord to string another blind as well as allowing the maker of the kit to eliminate 4 of the 5 cuts they now make as well as going through the process of winding 5 separate 20' pieces. Of course I am aware that the makers would sell fewer kits so it would not be to their advantage to do so. I am, however, speaking as a consumer, not a seller. From now on, however, I will just buy a spool of blind cord whenI need to repair a blind.
