I installed a recessed can less light and I as I was measuring for the opening, I was distracted by my wife who, while cooking, filled the house with smoke and set off all of the smoke alarms. Okay, my wife had nothing to do with it, I just screwed up and made the hole too big. These rings really helped covering up my goof! In case you are wondering, I always blame my wife for things that I have done, if it's bad she did it, if it's good then I did it. Been married for 40 years and I don't know how she puts up with me, but having humor in a marriage is probably the most important secret in a relationship. Anyway, great product and I highly recommend it to all of the Amazon shoppers. Have a great day! I sent a picture of the finished product, and I am still planning to paint the ceiling.

I used these to cover up the goofs my upholstery guy made on my pontoon seats around the cup holders. Worked great for that.

Had to use the rings because the ceiling hole was larger than the light canister. Fit great and hid the exposed part of the hole not covered by the light. Like the rough feature; blends right into a textured ceiling.
