First off I would like to say that I am not an expert by any means. However i have been making boxes and photo engraving for a few years. I can't get clean cuts from this wood. I am assuming it may be the glue used in the process. This is my experience. not going to say all there wood is bad. but the batch mine came from is not really usable for using a laser cutter on.

Most of all the wood I received was warped, I decided to try it and put it through my laser to engrave on it and it caused my machine to Malfunction. Alot of money spent and can't even use!!!!

The picture is the stack of wood that I received.I only need to cut a few small pieces also in the picture.. But after cutting at no splinters , no chips , nice stuff

Sure it is basswood but overall I found the quality to be ok.The outer veneers are very thin.The biggest issue I had was the fact that they are not even dimensionally. On some of the boards, they go from 1/4" to around 7/32". Yes it is not a huge variation but that 1/32" means a lot when you are making small boxes.
