Nice museum gel! Works just as well as the brand-name stuff and is a decent value for the price if you can't get the aforementioned "brand-name stuff" on sale. A little bit of this goes a long way and it does a good job at keeping my knicknacks secure on the shelf. All in all a decent buy!

I was rather skeptical, but had hope - I have some antiques and some fragile items on shelves… as well as a cat that likes to wander around a bonk everything she can.I first used this on a small figurine that wouldn’t matter if the bottom got ruined somehow, and on a spot on a shelf that it wouldn’t matter if it got messed up. The texture of this museum gel kind of reminds me of the sticky stuff that they use sometimes to hold stuff in packaging. Not quite rubber cement, but sort of? This isn’t as sticky feeling though. With the figurine, I used a tiny ball, and stuck it to a foot, and let is sit an hour. Granted, I didn’t put a bit on both feet, but as long as I wasn’t pushing hard on it, it didn’t budge. Rocking it back and forth unstuck the gel from the shelf, and I was able to rub the museum gel off of it with my fingers, it kind of crumbled off - but nothing was messed up.I have a 1920’s Kodak camera that I I have displayed, and I’m always worried that it’s going to fall over somehow. I took a bit of the gel and rolled it onto a strip and put it on the bottom of the camera, waited the recommended hour, and checked.Did. Not. Budge. You can bet that I’m going to be using this on just about everything that gets knocked over! I have a paper mache alibrije that I painted for my son when he was a baby (he’s 17 now), that our younger cat has a fascination with and is constantly knocking it over. I worry that it’s going to end up having a piece broken, as well as some other family heirloom/sentimental things that we would like to keep in one piece that we will be using this with!Oh - my son just asked if he could use some for some of his lego builds - so yeah, I’m going to have to get more, although I feel like this jar might be more than enough.
