Awesome job, really like this! Just the right size to ensure your mead/mulled wine is still warm by the time you’ve finished it but not so small it’s gone in two slurps. Well done that company, might buy another if it’s more than just me on the smash. Even too it to the local and the landlord wants one lol.

Bought as gift to go with mead to commemorate son's first Renaissance Faire experience. Very reasosnably priced compared to other products, no odor per some reviews, no cracks or leaks. He was tickled and enjoyed the mead as well!

My husband loves his new mead cup lol, but I am not as impressed. When you set it down it starts to spin and turn on it's own bc the bottom of it is not flat and level. As I'm doing this review I put water in it and guess what, it also leaks, alot! What a piece of crap and I'm pretty sure my husband threw the box away that it came in, in all the Christmas clean up. I didn't buy this for decoration I bought it for him to actually use, what a waste

First, a small note about the horn: it was once attached to the head of a living creature, so it's going to have a smell that you may find unpleasant. If you don't like the smell or feel that it makes your drinks have a funny taste, then I suggest one of the following 1) look up your local brewing supply shop and purchase something called "Brewer's pitch". It's a natural, food-safe sealant that Brewers use on wooden casks and barrels to seal them from the inside without effecting the flavor of their brew. Two coats brushed inside your horn will put a nice layer between you and the smell. 2) buy a block of food safe beeswax and melt it down in a double boiler (if you don't have one, use a glass measuring cup in a saucepan of boiling water.) When the wax is fully melted, submerge your horn in the boiling water with a pair of tongs with a rubber coating so they don't damage the horn, and leave it in the water for about 20 seconds. Remove the horn from the water and slowly pour a small amount into the horn and slowly turn the horn while tipping it to pour the wax back into the boiler, if you heat the horn first and turn/tip it slow enough, the liquid wax should leave a thin coating inside the horn. Repeat the process of pouring wax in and tipping/turning it out until you can see a decently thick layer of beeswax inside. Let it cool for a few hours and enjoy. Your horn will now have a pleasant beeswax smell instead of the original musty, gamey smell and you may notice that some of your drinks have a faint but pleasant taste of honey for the first few drinks.An important couple of notes about the coating methods, firstly I would use leather gloves or an oven mitt when holding the horn and pouring the wax in. I'd hate for you guys to wax it on my recommendation then accidentally drop and shatter your horn when it gets really hot. And secondly, you cannot put hot drinks in your horn after treating them with the above methods as the heat will cause the wax and pitch to melt.Now, onto the horn! The quality is way better than I expected for the price, it's sturdy, thick, and looks great! Very well constructed and attractive. Mine will be getting a lot of use at local Viking meetups and the state Renaissance Faire, especially now that I made a leather belt frog for it!
