These are too dense for seedlings to easily take root. I actually have to rough up the inside of the pocket with a small sharp object ahead of time. Otherwise the plants just push themselves out of it and die. I will not order these again.

So far these work well and do not get the yucky green mold most of the time.

The grow sponges are generally single-use, so you'll need to purchase more at some point if you're into hydroponic gardening. These were a great replacement to the ones that came with my generic aerogarden. They look too small when they arrive, but they plump right up when they're soaked before using. I currently have Tiny Tim tomatoes, chamomile, parsley, and mixed lettuce growing successful in them, so I can confirm they do their job. It should be quite a while before I run out again, but I'd get these again when I need to order.

These are great little sponges. I had no problem with them. They fit perfectly. There were no bugs or foul smells.

Really good quality, my seeds are germinating perfectly and turning into delicious leafy greens, they fit perfectly in my hydroponic system baskets!

I needed more sponges for my aerogarden and these fit perfectly! I use these with seeds that I buy separately, and they grow really well in my aerogarden. I’ve used them for a year now, and still have a lot left! There is some kind of growth on the top of the sponge, though. It’s been a few months since planting this basil, and I am not sure what is growing on the sponge. Looks like some kind of algae or moss?

I really love my hydroponic system and indoor gardening. Btw, lettuce & basil really does well. Anyway, the grow sponges are a must to keep growing year round. These pods are reasonably priced and are of good quality & quantity (depending on how many you want to purchase).
