Singing Bowl History
Standing bells originated in China. An early form called nao took the shape of a stemmed goblet. The manufacture and use of bowls specifically for ‘singing’ is believed to be a modern phenomenon. Bowls that were capable of singing began to be imported to the West from around the early 1970s. Since then they have become a popular instrument in the US-originating new-age genre often marketed as 'Tibetan music'. Today they are known by many different names.
From chakra bowls, buddah singing bowl, healing bowls, Himalayan bowl, Tibet singing bowl, metal singing bowls, brass singing bowls, Japanese singing bowls, om singing bowl. They all refer to these standing bells used for silent mind meditation, sound healing and prayer.

I hate returning stuff, i know it costs the seller, but these metal Himalayan bowls keep coming to me untuned. The whole point is to work with a particular frequency, how am i to work with something off key that produces dissonance with my other bowls and forks. Its primitive technology and is quite sloppy for sound therapy.

I literally brought many of these bowls back from trips to Napal. When I purchased this one and a gift I was Leary due to the price. Happily surprised that the quality, weight, size, and sound are such nice quality. Recommend.

Get your meditation on! Bought this as a gift for my wife after we met someone who used one and it was perfect. The quality seems good, it has a pleasant tone, it is a nice size and it was a good value. Very happy with it!

If the handle was different with felt or leather it would sound better. I thought it was a little bugger from the description, but it is a nice piece.

LOVE IT!!! Great quality & sound! Super fast shipping. Highly recommend, I went for this larger bowl and so glad I did :) I used an app to check the sound frequency and it says its the crown chakra for singing and the root chakra when you "ding" on the side of the bowl. Love it so much :)

Royal Rising....I just received my very first sanging bowl. It was everything that I expected it to be. The quality is great..bowl is the perfect size too. I let spirit pick the color for my cushion.
