This is a heavy duty pole. It has a matte black finish with predrilled holes for attaching a mailbox. Despite adequate packaging, I noticed upon opening that the finish had been scraped by the improper placement of the base. Had it been placed in the box instead of directly on the pole, the scraped paint wouldn't have happened. I can use some touch paint to correct this as the damage is fairly minimal. I will be attaching a large solor light head to make an entrance light instead of a mailbox.
